The Great Spirit designed all of life so that we might enjoy every morsel. All of God’s creation are endowed with love in their design. If we are willing to let go of our mind’s finite definition of love and what is worthy of love then we have the opportunity to experience the abundance of love that is around us and within us. Being able to discern is a useful skill. We have decisions to be made and paths to take. Deciphering what is the correct course for us in the moment is what we are here to do. Ultimately there is only one question: Will this decision lead me further on the path of love or will it take me away from it? Will this draw me closer to God whom designed the love that resides within me or cause me to want to separate myself from myself and others? Will this expand my heart or will it close my heart? All the same question, just different formats. One thing that I have learned on my dates with God is that God never ceases to see the expansiveness of my heart and the capability of loving fully. My prayer is that I may more readily remember that about myself so that I can choose my life from it. When I cannot, I simply reach for the hand of God, asking to whisper in my ear to jog the memory of when I knew nothing else. Sometimes I can picture the face of God nestled in the nape of my neck as the whispering occurs and it makes me smile because my heart is joyful at the remembering. My prayer for us today as we make our decisions big and small that we have the fortitude to look at what decisions we are truly making and reach for the hand when needed. Make it a great one!
