God of All Graciousness is present right now in this moment. In this moment God of All Wonder resides with us all. The experiences we have in this universe of learning are based on the premise that we can give things a try to gather information. Each step we take, each decision we make provides feedback when we notice what happens. We get stuck when we decide that what happens as a result of our actions means something about us. When we look to the results of our actions and judge them as good or bad, we narrowly begin to define ourselves by our circumstances. No outside circumstance can ever define who we are. God defines who we are and did so when we were created out of great love. The experiment of life is about taking chances so that we might learn more about how things work and get feedback on whether what we are doing brings us closer to God or further away. We lose sight of the purpose of learning when every result becomes our self-definition. In a universe of learning, humility is key. When we are teachable, we are saying that we are willing to try things out and gather evidence. This evidence feedback helps clarify the path towards love that we are on in this life. I easily forget and become fearful to act because I am waiting for the result to define me. I then have to turn to God and ask: Remind me this is about learning and growing in love. No matter what happens, place within my heart the remembrance that You will never see me as anything less or greater than the love you placed in my heart at my conception. My prayer for us today is that we remember that we live in a universe of learning and are free to show up and experiment with what brings us closer or further to the love that we are within.
