God has altered thinking. Being in relationship with God means that we are continually offered an alternative to our limited view of life. There is a reason why so many significant religious and spiritual rituals take place over a table often referred to as an altar. A table is where a meal is enjoyed. A meal is composed of elements that were wholly offered up and have been altered through the process of mixing, heating, and or seasoning. We do the same with our lives. We present to God ourselves at the altar of our life. God invites us to see it differently. God invites us to enjoy the mixture of our experiences. God invites us to be warmed by the heated elements of our lives that created us anew. God invites us to savor the experiences that have seasoned us. God can make a feast of love out of whatever we offer up. God shows us that what is placed on the altar can be altered if we are open to seeing as God sees.
My prayer for us is the courage to accept God’s invitation to the table of our lives and savor the altered perspective of who we have become.
If God can alter your thinking to view the experiences of your life that you have seasoned as something to savor instead of throw away, what would you present to God to be altered today? Share in the comments.
