God supplies.  In a world scrambling to figure out how best not to run out of our natural resources, it is hard to imagine that our true Source of life is limitless.  We begin our time on this planet with everything that we need within us to set us up for success.  Our purity and openness to love makes us ready to live the life God imagines for us.  Soon we find ourselves hurt and disappointed.  We take it on and think we need to toughen up so we begin to guard our hearts.  After a while we forget the guard around our hearts is there and respond to life with a certain amount of distance.  Inside our heart aches to live from its truest resource, love.  The outer shell breaks down when it stops work effectively to guard us from being hurt further.  Typically we find ourselves being hurt by the very thing designed to protect us. Such was my experience with addiction and weight.  I outer coating of protection extended from a deadening inside and I was practically the walking dead by the time I got into recovery. Only then was I willing to learn that God’s supplies are my truest source of love and light. Being willing to live and rely upon this truest resource within our hearts is the first step to making it a reality and restoring what it means to be alive.

My prayer for us is the courage to acknowledge that perhaps our way is not working and asking God to remind us of the resources God placed within us  today.
