Sharing my experiences and understandings of the Great I AM.

Be Of Uniting!

God is one.  We have been created out of one love.  When we are separated from that great love that intertwines with everything in our lives, we feel the disconnection. We may not recognize it as such.  We may just feel off or think we are missing out on something.  We may think we need someone or something else in order to not feel this way.  But none of those outside things will create the sense of unity in our hearts that we long for most. We long for it because it is inherent in our hearts to be united with All That Is.  Our souls know of our connection to Spirit. Our minds are calmed by the coherency created by heart connection. God always sees us as united with God and united in wholeness. The most comforting thing for me experienced on my daily meditation date with God is the sense that I am united with a power greater than me even for just 20 minutes in a way that surpasses the understanding of my mind but is music to my heart. God reminds me, “I AM.  I AM WITH YOU.  I AM WITHIN YOU.”
My prayer for us is the courage to admit that the source of our anxiety or discord comes from our perceived disconnection from the United force of love.
If God is united to us and with always, what might you feel connected to in your next breath?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Ministering!

God heals.  We are reflections and imitations of God.  As we align ourselves with our full purpose in life we see that we are ministers of love.  We are given the tools we need through our own inclinations to spread the love we are.  God places in our hearts particular inclinations that reveal to us the desires of the kind of life we want to live.  We are given those inclinations so we can be guided to the arena where we can minister most effectively.  God needs us everywhere.  God has no eyes or ears nor hands or feet.  We can be the ministers of love through our eyes and ears, our feet and hands and carry the message of love through who we are being in that realm.
My prayer for us is the courage to recognize our interests and inclinations and trust that God will give us what we need to be a part of that realm of life so we can minister to all to whom we encounter today.
If God is calling us to minister in a particular arena of life, what can God do to encourage you to trust that you will have what you need to be the message of love in the area you are interested in today? Share in the comments.

Be Of Relinquishment!

God’s unattached.  We are encouraged day by day to walk with God.  To be complete in God.  To remember that we are whole in God.  Our creator did not design us with pieces missing or broken.  We are whole and complete.  God never sees us as anything less than whole and complete.  We live in a world that searches out dangers and wrongs in order to ensure our survival.  God says, I AM your survival and you are whole.  We are not wrongs that need to be made right.  Yes, we can take missteps and cause injury, but it does not change who we are at our core.  The reason they are mistakes or injuries is because at the time we made them we were not coming from a place of recognition of our wholeness.  If we want to be in alignment with our creator we must be willing to relinquish the idea that we are in our essence flawed.  Relinquish the notion that we are here to fix ourselves.  This is a hard one for me who was certain my whole life that it was my fault and deep down there was something sick and wrong inside of me that no one wanted to see. It wasn’t until I was willing to relinquish in the slightest bit and take a look deep down that I discovered God there.  God then said, “Good, you are here, now we can get rid of these misperceptions and you can see the light and love you are underneath all that.”  Each day I choose to relinquish my old ideas about being broken is a day God can show me the brightness of my heart.
My prayer for us is the courage to relinquish the idea we are broken and need to be fixed even if fixing ourselves has become a full-time job.
If God doesn’t think we need to be fixed, what other ideas that stand in opposition to your wholeness are you willing to relinquish today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Reward!

God is joy.  Life is meant to be celebrated.  You just took a breath . . . yay!  And another one, yay!  It seems too simple to find joy in something as benign as our breath. Yet how many of us are cognizant of all the benefits our breath.  Fresh oxygen, heightened awareness in the body, ability to move, brain wake up, heart pumping, and cell growth are all effects of our breath. It is our very life and yet we take little joy in it.  The reward of our breath is instantaneous.  We need not wait long for its effects.  It is the quickest instant gratification experience we can have.  If there is so much reward from our breath which is a common every day presence, what other rewards might God have in store for us?  What other fixed ideas do we have about every day simple things that keep us from recognizing the vast rewards of living?
My prayer for us is the willingness to change our perception to one of recognition of the rewards of life and find a reason to celebrate today.
If God gifts us with moments of joy in simple things, what rewards might you be open to seeing in your life today that you had previously not perceived as rewards?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Sanctity!

God is holy.  An encounter with God is one that touches in a deep place.  We know it when we cannot define it.  We think it is meant to be some big event and it can be.  Most of the time, it is a quiet moment in which we are filled with a sense of peace.  We find there is breathing room in our hearts and we are a little less burdened by our perception of life.  It is a moment in which there exists a resonance between our hearts and minds. The sanctity we experience is not a fleeting.  Once it takes hold of our heart it remains there forever.  We simply need to be reminded of it because it has always been there.  We do not need to go searching for our sanctity.  God made sure it was installed as part of the original packaging.
My prayer for us is the willingness to believe God’s holiness lies in the recognition of our own sanctity because we are part of God today.
If God placed our sanctity within our hearts from the very beginning, how can God assist you in connecting with it today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Grace!

God is. There is nothing greater than the gift of love.  It surpasses all understanding and there are barely any words to describe the process of grace that allows us to live in this fullest experience of love made manifest.  My experience of grace came to me in a way I least expected it.  It was the moment after years of strife and adopting an attitude of forgiveness towards my father in which I realized I could truly love him.  I realized that despite what had happened when I was younger I was no longer afraid of him and no longer angry with him.  It was a space that I never imagined possible in my heart.  I still have my own challenges as someone on the recovery from incest but my steps in wholeness are no longer tied to my father.  I am free and he is free.  He has his own process and I have mine.  As I write about it here, I fear that the words I am using are not adequate to describe the gift of grace that has crossed my path.  Yet it is a constant reminder that somehow our greatest struggles are the catalyst for our greatest experience of triumph, freedom, love and grace.  I need to be reminded of that as I continue to invite God into the recovery and remembrance of my wholeness of all of me including my sexuality.
My prayer for us today is the willingness to step into our struggle and ask God to use it to show us the experience of grace and profound love.
If God can create an experience of grace in the midst of chaos and destruction, how might God be able to show you the gift of grace that your chaos is to you today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Coming!

God is here. We do not need to look far to find God.  Our creator has designed a place of presence within our hearts.  It is the space of light and love that is ever-present. We get confused when we focus on the darkness layered over the depth of light and love God always witnesses in us.  God is continually coming to us to renew and remind us of who we are at our core.  We hide ourselves when we sense God coming towards us because the light and love of God’s presence seems foreign to us.  It calls upon us to let go of what our ego has come to rely upon.  It is so wedded to the story we created in our minds to explain why we got disconnected.  God does not care why.  God only wants to come to us and remind us that no matter what we do or what happens, we can reunite in our hearts with our truest essence.  God’s coming is an invitation to show the darkness we have built up around our hearts and let it go by turning it over to God.

My prayer for us is the courage to see God’s coming as the warm heart and presence of love like a light that cannot be dimmed no matter how deep the darkness is we have added to our lives.
If God is coming again and again to remind us of our loving light at our deepest core, what might God be able to bring to win over your heart today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Alertness!

God is awake.  We are invited to wake up to love at every moment.  We are called from within to be alert to the presence of love and light in our every day lives. God spares no opportunity to whisper in our ears to become alert to the presence of love.  Often we miss it simply because we weren’t expecting it or thought it would be different.  Over and over again I awaken to God when I am able to be with what is in the present moment.  It is a willingness to let go of how things should or are supposed to be.  It is the courage to open myself up just a little more knowing I might get hurt, but could also get loved.  Drastic and subtle aptly describes the wake up calls in my life.  Again, God shows up always.  Being alert is about a willingness to see God in places and spaces expected and unexpected.
My prayer for us is the desire to be alert to the twists and turns of life as opportunities to connect with love.
If God is awake to love and desires the same for us, how might God assist you in a wake up call today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Giftedness!

God gives. The giving and receiving of love constitutes every element of flow in the universe.  We are designed at our very core to give love and receive love.  We are an extension of all that is love.  We are the manifestation of a profound powerful love that far surpasses our understanding.  We get glimpses and notions from other people, nature, and being present.  Feeling alive is the feeling of love.  Sensing the majesty and magnitude of our breath is love.  Experiencing the embrace of love is what keeps us alive and breathing.  God has designed so many ways of gifting us with this understanding of love.  We experience it physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.  God does not place limitations on the ways love can be present in our lives.  We place limitations on our awareness by restricting it to expectations.  We imagine a gift of love will show up in a particular gesture, a certain wording, a specific person, a powerful experience or any combination of those.  Some of my most delightful days are the ones in which I am surprised by how God presented a gift of love to me.  Catching the light of the sun through my window, watching a bird swoop through the sky, the feel of the cool wind on a warm night, the sound of a homeless person’s laugh, seeing two people on a bus stop talking to one another, or a smile from a stranger.  These are the gifts of love reminding me I AM here now in this present moment paid attention to.  God notices me.  God is gifting me with love.

My prayer for us is the willingness to let go of our predetermined expectation of God’s gift of love this day and be surprised.
If God is ready to show us a gift of love at every turn, how might you be open to receiving this gift today? Share in the comments.

Be Of Sureness!

God is certainty. It in our lives the only thing certain is change.  God is beyond change.  God is constant.  However, if we are open to it God changes form and experience over time.  God meets us where we are.  As a child I would not have understood the God I have a relationship with as an adult.  God’s presence in my life never wavered.  Being aware and open to how God might show up today in my life is one of my greatest joys.  I enjoy being surprised by God.  I find in not holding a specific expectation I am better able to witness God in space and places in my life that are beyond my imagination.  This comes from a sureness of God’s presence.  If I don’t have to question whether or not God is there, I am free to see God where I might have not looked before.
My prayer for us is the willingness to believe in the sureness of God so we can be open to how God might show up for us today?
If God is a sure thing, what might you want to open yourself up to so that you can experience the sureness of God today?  Share in the comments.
