Sharing my experiences and understandings of the Great I AM.

Be Poetic Core!

Do you ever wonder
what happens when we’re done?
The drive for completion
seems to never be won

Once we’re done
There is more to do
so how can we be done
if it never actually comes

I sense a bigger question
my mind in gestation
Words of frustration
Bring about contemplation

A world in search of done
never reaching completion
It’s no wonder the frustration
feels the only thing won

The wise say it is the journey that counts
Counts towards what?
Is there a certain amount?
How many journeys count?

You can see the confusion
Is it all an allusion
to the power of illusion?
Or not measured by the mind
which sees one more time
No matter how much we’ve done
It is never done until we’re done

We never know how many bends
show up on the journey to the end
And who’s to say where we actually begin?
Could the supposed end
be the very spark
for things to start somewhere else again?

Somewhere on the inside
A journey not seen from the outside
Deep to the core
A spot too sensitive to ignore
Where we move in the space
Between sanctity and grace

A place not limited by time
It is the space for the mind
replaced by the heart’s mind

Knowing its done,
though it does not matter.
Its work creates a rhythm
Measured by beats not matter.

A resonance wave of lives
touched by what truly matters,
because one more of us in matter
turned our journey to the core
and faced a spot too sensitive to ignore.

We chose to learn a dance
in the rhythm and the pace
finding our beat by chance
between sanctity and grace.

Be Poeticity!

The world is full of many places
We can live in all kinds of spaces
Whether cityscapes or landscapes
Where will you put your stake
and create your space?

Is it in Electricity
Or are you drawn to Rhythmicity
Or it’s sister city of Synchronicity?

A place like Overcapacity
can make it seem like you are in Ferocity.

Are you seeking Rusticity
to explore Toxicity?

A place like Pugnacity
can have you feeling like you live in Audacity

Be mindful that Centricity
is on the way to Egocentricity
which leads to Scarcity
and before you know it you are in Multiplicity

Maybe seek out Neuroplasticity
It’s nowhere near Spasticity
You’ll find it by way of Elasticity
And on the edge of Vivacity

Where will you start?
Where will you go?
There is of course,
one ultimate goal

Find the place
The city space
Where you choose
to put down roots
Claim you stake
and create your space

Don’t be fooled by the signs
Despite all the chatter
The city does not matter
It’s about the state . . . of our minds

Be Poetic Station!

Bravery and toughness
Strength and stamina
We herald the heroes
Who have it all in place

Fortresses and walls
Demarcation of bounds
Stiffer up lips
Armored from inside halls

Guarded and braced
Not sure what we’ll face
Only certain this will not be
The thing that breaks me

We hear it like a drum
pounding in our head
Repeating the messages
one beat at a time
Making for a lifeline
Where all is always fine

Keep focused on the outside
A little tighter on the armor
It might be a threat
If you let ’em see the sweat

Harder and tighter
Keep driving it home
One more beat
And you’ll be the beast

The beast you see
Is not you and me
The beast you fear
Are your own tears
The ones dripping
Down your tense face
From holding so tight
To save your place
A place in a world
Where no one wants to be
Who they are designed to be

Alas, there is more

Another place
Not lined with wire
but courage is required
The only fence
is letting go of pretense

A place on the inside
Where there is more than one side
Unblocked and unframed
Breakable and undefended
Soft and gushy
Flowing with breath
Cycling through stagnation
Beating to its own drum
It is an entirely different station
Not on the same tracks
It’s Grand Central Station
of your heart.

Next stop: vulnerability

Be Poetic In-Between!

The in-between
or in betwixt
The spaces uninhabited
like a black hole

How do we know
If it is a hole
Or just a word
to fill in a verb

Energy vibrates
We like to calibrate
Give it measure
So we know if we can treasure

Fixated on knowns
Afraid of the void
Stuck on our owns
The rest we’ll avoid

Encountering mystery
brings too much history
Past transgression
of being fooled into submission

Someone with a louder voice
Coaxing us on their path
Not giving us the choice
or even a chance
To sit with the between
See what it might mean
Wriggle through discomfort
Attempt to confront
Spaces dark and unknown
Inside of our own

Easier to believe
Those who say they can see
better than we

What if their say
Is made up play
Their best attempt
To make sense
of their inner contempt

Striving and longing
to feel less fear
about the holes in life
that are just there

Be Poetic Route!

Have you seen the array
of what’s on display?
It’s hard to dismay
what they say

Is this the way
to keep things at bay?
Just turn away
so as not to be swayed

From the head to the mouth
Is that the only route?
One thought to the next
Who would have guessed
We were missing a part
circumventing a stop

Perhaps not a mistake
A breath is needed to operate

Cannot just make thoughts into words
Without a pause, we cannot be heard

A pause to provide
the air needed for travel
far and wide
so it will unravel

That is, of course
If we want discourse
Beneficial and unriddled
Solution-based and not befuddled

A key piece
or perhaps belief
Would seem to be
For the breath to be
The heart must be
on the road with thee

Be Poetic Play!

All in good time
For silly little rhymes
Wait,
did you say this spice was thyme?

Can you feel the question?
Anticipate the suggestion?
You too could be a poet
and not even know it

Uh, oh, there it goes
or here it comes
How do you know?
Which way it will go?

Like play-do with words
Searching through the herd
Forming through the hands
Wanting to make a stand
Or find a voice
to showcase the choice

Is it nonsense
Or silly sense?
Which tense
sets the precedence?

Wordplay on the field
Do we need a shield?
Catch and release
Wait,
are you the police?

C’mon, you know its there
Giggly feelings in the air

Admit it
It’s doing it
You can’t resist
It will persist

The poetic timing
and the random rhyming
It has you . . .
Smiling

Be Poetic Parts!

Feeling cold
and all alone
Sad in the heart
Falling apart?

Turn on some music
Light a candle
Figuring a way
to get a handle

Moments like these
Is there a way to be?
Or is it an invitation
to be closer with me?

A part of me
Lesser-known
Deeper down
Into the unknown

Still a heart beating
A change in my breathing
Searching for a voice
Wanting some meaning

Not allowed before
It doesn’t look good
Something about no room for that

Scared and afraid
With no one to tell
Is it enough to tell me?

There, there little one
I promise you true
I hear you loud and clear
I’m here now
Nothing to fear

It is over
It is done
Never again
We’ve managed to overcome

We made it out
We have a voice
There is room in our heart
For whatever part

The sadness part
The fearful part
The excited part
The aroused part
The confused part
The curious part

There is room at the inn
The inn of our heart
At this inn
Truth plays a part

No matter what happened
No matter what may
You are always more than just parts

There is room at the inn
The inn of our heart
Truth is in charge
Courage plays a part
It opens the door
Giving the strength to walk out

Step into the light
Our soul at the helm
Aware of the plight

Riding bumpy waves
Can seem to overwhelm
With Heart and Soul
We navigate to the whole

More than the moments
More than the parts
More than the memories
More than the circumstances

More than we can imagine
Is what ignites
Holding God’s hand
Being guided to the light

Light from within
Which never goes out
Holding steady
Riding the waves
Staying the course
Like riding a horse
Strong and bold
Galloping the landscape
Truth of us as whole
With room for all the parts

There, there little one
I’ve got you in hand
We only got off course
and temporarily forgot

We are always more whole than parts

Be Poetic Holiness!

Do you revere?
Or are you revered?
Are you pure?
Or looking to be purified?
Are you chaste?
Or do you make haste?
Do you do piety?
Or lean towards brevity?
Would others call you venerable?
Or merely gullible?

Pretell dear friend
where are you
on the holiness scale?

Are you Hanzel and Gretel?
or the big bad wolf?
Could you possibly be
the boy who cried wolf?

Are you keeping count of the wolves?
Or the innocent revelations?
The faulty deeds
Or seraphic means?

Are you fooled by your eyes?
Or open to the unseen?
How do we explain
the sacrosanct?

Does it matter
all that much
Or is it just fluff
Like all that emotional stuff?

Could it be?
Do we dare to believe?
The holy is what lies
beyond what is seen?

Felt in the heart
Not measured on a scale
Holiness is who we are
When we step outside the tale
The one from the world
saying only “this” is real

To go away from the known
Is too scary to own
So we push it aside
and bring back the scale

Good or bad
Right or Wrong
Sinner or Saint
Only one shade of paint
or way to value time
What if God had something else in mind?

Be Poetic Flow!

There is a flow that comes from knowing
Weaving in and out of interactions
With others
With things
With feelings
With thoughts

At what point does the weaving get sown
Sown into your being
Impacting your feelings
Impacting your thoughts
Impacting your knowing
Showing up with others
With yourself
With your sense of being

When does it stop?
Does it have an end?
Is there a limit?
Is it when we’re dead?

Growing and changing
It’s fun in the beginning
We are praised and hailed
Everyone applauding

Later it’s more tricky
Is there still room?
No longer the empty vessel
We are full

Full of experiences
Full of ideas
Full of emotions
Full of ourselves

To get back in the flow
We must learn to let go
Do the weeding
And the pruning

What if we resist?
What happens when we persist
At being what we know
Holding to the familiar
Fighting off the change?

Does our fullness harden?
Do we become stubborn and stiff?
Or just sturdy?

How do we get back to the flow
and learn to let go?
Trusting infinite design
has something in mind
Something unfamiliar
Something new
Something borrowed
Something blue
(Oops, I got off track!)
Silly me!

Then again . . .
maybe laughing is the key
The salve we need
To see ourselves
through eyes anew

I must admit
It is hard to be stiff
with a belly full of laughs
A mouth taking in new breaths
A heart-pumping faster
Kickstarting the flow
Which changes the know

Such simplicity
Could it possibly be?

The method we need
To get back in the flow
Explore outside the known
And continue to grow

Stop taking ourselves so seriously!

Reigns of your mind
Or of your heart?

What stops it in its tracks?
What keeps it in line?
