Sharing my experiences and understandings of the Great I AM.

Be in Good!

In God’s world all that is created is seen as good.  Even in the Hebrew scriptures of Genesis that begin the Bible say that God created all and saw that it was good.  It is hard sometimes to imagine that all is still good.  We think that because of what we have experienced and what we feel that something can become not good.  But how can something reverse its own nature from which it came?  How can we undo what God has done?  I think we can misuse it or take it for granted but I am not sure we are capable of undoing its essence.  Perhaps the key is not in that we undo its essence, but we allow our thinking to see whatever it is as less than its essence.  We pile stories on top of the reality of something or someone existence and think that the stories are the essence of whatever it is and not who or what it is in God’s eyes.  This is why continually I ask God, Help me to see this as You see this. I am acutely aware that my thinking is sometimes stinking.  My prayer for us today is that we be willing to ask God one thing: Show me the good in this (situation, person, idea, etc.).  Make it a great one!  Peace~Colleen

Be in Noticed!

Every last inch of our being was created by the Great Creator out of love.  This same Creator pays attention and notices all the elements of creation because they are a part of All That Is.  How might your day be different if you realized that Someone was noticing you?  If you knew in your heart that Someone was holding you in their heart?  Would you feel precious?  Would you feel taken care of?  Would you treat others as though they were being held in the same heart?  My prayer for us today is that we be open to the idea that God is who God says that God is and we are a part of that LOVE that is noticed by its Creator.  Make it a great one!  Peace~Colleen

Be in Hidden!

Our Great Creator designed all that is and all that will ever be.  As we walk through this life one day at a time we have an opportunity to experience the fullness of that life.  All to often though we are stuck in our own world, the mini-universe of our heads. Within our universe where our thinking is the creator, we might have chambers that are hidden.  Things we cannot see, things we see but don’t want to or things that we don’t think should be there.  So as we present ourselves to the outer world we keep those things that our ego deems unacceptable or less than perfect hidden.  In God’s universe nothing is hidden.  Everything is in the light.  Our job is not to avoid the downfalls or the ickiness of our human nature, our job is to bring the light of God’s universe into it.  That begins with acknowledging that it is there.  My prayer for us today is that we be open to asking the Great Creator to shine the light of Love on one of the places that we are keeping hidden so we can see what is really there.  Make it a great one!  Peace~Colleen

Be in Place!

This wondrous universe that we live in is equipped with so many gifts and messages.  If we are able to stop long enough and appreciate it, it can sink in.  Last week when the moon was full I found myself almost distracted as I was driving home because I was mesmerized by the beauty of its glow.  It was one of those harvest moons, full and bright.  Sure I have seen them before but they are so beautiful that each time I am awestruck.  If I just stand in place long enough in one space my eyes are opened to the beauty that surrounds me.  More than anything that I have noticed during my dating years with God is that not only am I surrounded by beauty that is where I am but I am just as much a part of that beauty as that which I admire. In fact, God sees me that way all the time, even when I act less than the love that I am.  God created us all out of love and for love and when we stay in that place of remembering we become the mesmerizing beauty, the image of awe in the hearts of man, the movement to do great things.  My prayer for us today is that in the midst of today’s comings and goings we spend even just a few seconds in the place of God’s point of view and see the beauty of which we are a part.  Make it a great one!  Peace~Colleen

Be in Curiosness!

Life is a mystery to unfold, a game to play out, and a an adventure upon which to learn to love.  Each day we are invited to take a closer look, to open our hearts and to live out the life of love that is who we are to our best ability.  When I get stuck in a particular mindset of limitation I find life to be an obstacle.  All I see are problems and difficulties and I lose my sense of wonder and curiosity about life.  I think this is what Jesus was talking about when he encouraged his followers to be like the children.  Kids have a natural attitude of curiosity and wonder in finding out.  They have not yet learned to make themselves wrong for not knowing the answer.  When a question begets another question they are motivated to keep moving forward.  Somewhere along the way, I got the message that it was not okay to question.  I should simply know the answer.  I could rack my brain trying to figure out why or I could look at even that with curiosity and just notice if that way of looking at things still works for me.  My prayer for us today is that we be open to the wonder of what we think we already should know and just ask God, is this how you see it?  Make it a great one!  Peace~Colleen

Be in Onwardness!

God is all about what were going to do now.  There are so many things that occur every day.  There are so many facets involved in making decisions.  Sometimes it seems as though there is one main cause behind things or one main explanation as to why, but that devalues the beautiful complexity of life. The reality is that most people are doing the best they can.  Their best may not be  your best or so we think, but in the end we really do not know.  I noticed yesterday as I was walking around Las Vegas that I was carrying with me the weight of judgment.  Sure, in my mind I was rationalizing it as a curiosity as to what makes people seek out a space of extravagance where they can act in excess and vulgarity and then have it be a secret.  Well, I have had plenty of my own secrets, so I am not one to judge.  I came here for a family get-together, not to engage in the excess so somehow that makes my being here better?  LOL!  I seriously had to catch myself. What the heck do I know?  Maybe what people get by being here and drinking and eating to excess , risking losing it all, or sexually exploiting each other is a sense of freedom that they do not or cannot allow themselves anywhere else in their lives.  Besides all the big displays and lights do provide a sense of wonderment and almost childlike fascination which brings us all to the soft space in our hearts.  So I wasn’t walking around being all high and mighty, but enough that I was reluctant to share this in the blog this morning.  What happened is that I stopped at some point yesterday and asked God to relieve me of any judgment I was carrying–just in case. The simple beauty of that moment was I did not condemn myself for the judgment, I recognized it as perhaps something that was not useful for me.  Plus, the payoff was that the celebration that I was here to experience became that much more joyful and pungent and filled with love and grace.  I was the one carrying whatever was the opposite, not those I was directing it towards.  I was gently reminded yet again by God that the only thing that stands between me and the freedom and beauty of life is my thinking.  Even more miraculous is the fact that all that was needed to shift was to stop, recognize what was happening, and ask for a different perspective.  God didn’t bash me over the head or make me wrong for the judgment I was carrying.  God said, Sure kiddo, you got it. Now we can move on and I can show you why you are here.  Look at the love, look at the beauty and be present to it. God does not expect perfection. God is hoping for an invitation to move on from the seeming imperfection and use it as an opportunity to grow more love in our hearts.  My prayer for us today is that we be open to moving on from wherever we are that we do not like about ourselves by giving it to God.  Make it a great one!  Peace~Colleen

Be in Acknowledgment!

When we are willing and able to look at something for exactly what it is we open up a window for allowing.  When we acknowledge things and situation for the truth of what they are, we free up space to move forward.  When we are stuck in this place of not admitting or holding back then things begin to stagnate, fester, and become dull.  Truth and Wholeness is the basis of growth.  Light is a catalyst for growth.  When things are in the dark or hidden then they cannot grow.  There are often things in our lives that we are hoping will stay hidden and somehow they will then go away.  We stick in the closet, tuck it under the bed, sweep it under the carpet and pretend. We do this because we do not want to see it because we have made it mean something bad.  This is not true of God.  God wants all things in the light.  God says, let’s bring it out and take a look at it.  Only when we put it under the light can we examine it for what it really is.  Only when we acknowledge that we are hiding can we stop and turn to find our way into the light.  We think that to bring to light those less than admirable qualities or nasty things we have done to ourselves or to others show us for the frauds we are afraid we are.  But God does not see things as we see things.  God looks at it and says, Hmm, interesting direction that you chose there–did that work for you in the long run or?  But most importantly, God is all about what we are going to do now.  As long as we keep it hidden we are still holding on to it.  When we bring it into the light we start to let it go.  God designed us for freedom of heart and mind, for peace and love.  My prayer for us today is that we be given the courage to take the chance that God does not see our darkness as a liability but an opportunity to invite the light.  Make it a great one!  Peace~Colleen

Be in Developing!

We exist in an ever-expanding and growing universe!  It is beautiful!  To think that more is yet to come.  To dwell in the idea that God is still creating.  That means that whatever is happening in our lives today has the potential to grow in change.  Placed in the hands of God and in the mindset of ourselves as something that we want God involved in, whatever is has the potential to be new and expand and shape and grow and become more of what it is meant to be.  When we live in the mindset of only ourselves, we see limitation and stagnation.  We think that because nothing is literally happening that nothing is happening.  But God continues to create and shower love and design and grow us and all around us.  I find it all to easy to become resigned about something with which I am struggling, especially if there seems to be no movement.  (Things like lots of dates but no relationship.  Many interviews but no job offer.  Several doctor visits but no answer to the mysterious condition.  And so on and so forth). My human perception is that nothing is happening.  Until my spirit-mind reminds me that it is in stillness that I know God.  So perhaps what I perceive as nothing happening is simply God-happening and it is more than I can imagine.  Maybe, just maybe, it will come back into view when I let go of my human perception and ask God to show me what it is that I am not seeing.  My prayer for us today is that we be willing to suspend the idea that just because we don’t see something, doesn’t mean that nothing is in development and ask God for the courage to continue to believe when we cannot see.  Make it a great one!  Peace~Colleen

Be in Giving!

When we are in the space of love giving becomes as much a way of being as breathing.  Our cup overflows and the giving is an extension of the love that we are.  It is hard to imagine sometimes that this is our natural state of being.  Most days we think we are of the world of limitation where when we give it takes from us instead of flowing through us.  My prayer for us today is that we be open to seeing our giving as an extension of the love from which we are created anew each moment in each breath.  Make it a great one!  Peace~Colleen.

Be in Bonding!

Sometimes when I look at the miracle of the world in which we live (a bright full moon, always catches my attention)–the way light operates and nature grows, it is easy to feel connected.  Although I know I don’t fully grasp how I am one with the beauty that I see all around me at all times.  It is easier to think of myself as something separate.  What light do I bring to the world?  How do I grow beautifully from a root to a bloom?  Am I really warmed by the sun and watered from the earth?  How do I flow with the wind instead of against it?  Do I move from one season of my life to the next with the trust that it is all in due time?  We are just as much a part of the pattern of the natural world as we are spirit.  It is my spirit that encourages me to connect with where I am in the present moment all the while being cognizant that it is not the entirety of who I AM.  My prayer for us today is that we be open to bonding with where we are in the present.  Make it a great one!  Peace~Colleen
