Sharing my experiences and understandings of the Great I AM.

Be Of Innocence!

God is true. As we walk the path of faith it all come to a place of return in our heart.  Through the vision of our hearts where love grows and expands throughout our being, we are able to see ourselves and other’s with the vision of God.  God is always present to our innocence.  God sees the minds of our hearts and knows that whatever we do or say does not change that which God created.  God’s design of life invites us to return to the memory of our innocence.  It is a memory for us because we think that based on how we have lived our lives or stories we created we have somehow undone  our true nature. God never sees us as less than what God created and our hearts never forget.  I can see this in my own life.  When I am centered in my heart, which I practice on my daily prayer and meditation dates with God, I am able to see the innocence of others.  It is like putting on God goggles.  When I see the innocence I can be accepting, loving, and in recognition that we are all connected.
My prayer for us is the courage to practice seeing the innocence of ourselves and others by using the eyes of our heart today.
If God created us as innocent, what can you let go of in your thinking that has caused you to believe you could undo your innocence today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Sway!

God influences. It is no mystery that God shows presence and love in beauty.  If you have ever been captured by a sunset, warmed in your heart by the face of a child, awestruck by a flower or stunned by a beautiful human being.  We also know in our hearts of the beauty of love.  When we experience a genuine reaching of ourselves to a friend or lover to hug or kiss them, are moved to support a cause we are passionate about, or remember how we were all brought to tears seeing the rescuers pull people out of the twin towers buildings in New York City in September of 2001.  Beauty sways our hearts because it is the evidence of the presence of love.  Heck, ask a someone who has ever seen a woman sway her hips with confidence and they can tell you about the presence of  beauty!  God designed us to become present to love by creating beauty that draws from within us the resources that abound and allow us to extend love out.  We are swayed to encocurage us to share love freely.
My prayer for us is the courage to be swayed by beauty and spread the love it awakens in our hearts today.
If God gave us a heart full of love, how might you sway the beauty of the love in your heart to awaken the person present in your life today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Time!

God is now. The gift of living in the light of love is the power of being present in this time.  In my daily meditation and prayer dates with God I have had fulfilling moments of being present in the present moment.  More importantly, as I go through my day I am able to be where I am.  It sounds like a small thing but given that there is no past or future except in our minds, where else are we really?  To me being present in time is about acceptance.  It is about letting go of things as I think they should be and being in the flow of how they are.  I also realize that if it is not something I like, when I let go of wanting it to be different and accept it, it passes much quicker.  It is about changing my view of what is.  I can make steps to change but the only thing that changes in the moment is my acceptance.  I can choose to be with myself in this moment as someone who is fighting or accepting.  The great things about moments in time is we get so many of them we can experiment with who we are being in different ones and choose more or less of that way of being as we go.  The other day I was down for the count with a head cold and when I started to feel a bit more normal, I stepped outside my apartment to get some fresh air.  Thank God for nature. Even in the urban jungle I am I can always find some of it.  I took a walk around the neighborhood I live in and found a sidewalk that had some green grass and took a moment to lean up again the tall tree in the shade.  I took my shoes off and stood there with my bare feet in the grass.  I closed my eyes and took a few deep breaths and soaked in the moment.  I opened my eyes as I felt the warmth of the sun hitting my skin and saw this yellow and black butterfly flying around the houses around me. I love butterflies and I so rarely see them.  It was not in my plan to stay home for a couple of days and rest my body.  I have lots of things to do, don’t you know?   Being present in that moment in time I lost track of time and remembered life is about being, not doing.
My prayer for us is the willingness to be in as many moments of time we can be today.
If God is with us now, how many moments in time would you like to be with love today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Aligning!

God is love. Aligning ourselves with God gives us the power and the courage to live from the love we are.  Love does take courage especially in the face of the adversity or even the face of life that seems to prefer to numb and nullify the living experience.  Love calls us to live expansively and stretch ourselves past what we think our capacity to love is.  Some of the greatest moments of strength and power in my life have been in the small moments when I chose the path of love instead of the path of conformity and expectation.  Aligning myself with the source of all love gave me the strength to take action instead of walking away. When I find myself wanting to close off my heart from someone who is bothering or irritating me, I can take a breath, stand tall, and anchor myself in alignment with a greater truth of love coming from above.  I can then sense the closure slowing and the breath of willingness reach my heart. I have learned that I cannot selectively close off my heart to one person while simultaneously keeping it open to another or myself.  I can choose that it is worth the openness where love can flow freely and in some cases through me when I am not capable of extending it.
My prayer for us is the courage to connect with the truest form of love by aligning ourselves through the willingness to allow love to move through us in times it cannot come from us.
If God designed us to be the messengers of love then how might you be willing to align with God today and allow yourself to be used as the beacon of love you are for yourself and others today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Emptiness!

God creates.  Our design from the beginning has built within us the capacity to love and be loved.  We do not need to turn to someone or something else in order to generate that experience.  It is a process of allowing it to flow in and through us.  We create an open channel where we are emptied of anything that might block the flow of love.  When we empty ourselves of all we think we know about love and how we think it will show up or behave we allow for the experience of love as it is in all its fashions to be present.  In this space of emptiness we can discover love as though for the first time because we have let go of preconceived notions of what love is.  The more I empty myself of my ideas of what love is, the more I experience the vast and expanding nature of love.  I am always surprised in the ways it shows up.  I am humbled by the appearance of love in a place I thought love dare not go especially when I realize it was me that would not go there.
My prayer for us is the willingness to empty ourselves of our fixed ideas of how love will show up and simply allow it to do so.
If God is all shapes and sizes, how can you empty yourself of an idea of love and be open to a different shape of love today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Permanence!

God is changeless.  The peace offered by God is encased in the love already within our hearts.  It is an invitation to awaken within us the desire of our being.  We search our whole lives to experience that which is permanently a part of our make up.  We have been deceived by listening to the messages of the world telling us what we seek is obtained outside of ourselves.  We witness it in others, we have spiritual experiences, we go to temples and churches, we attend retreats, and travel to distant lands.  We have moments of those experiences of peace and know we have connected with something greater than ourselves.  Then we think we must continue to do that thing, be with those people, go to those places, or continue those practices to generate the experience.  We fail to recognize that doing such things has simply activated the permanence of God’s love and peace which has been with us all along.  Certainly those practices and experiences help, but at the end of the day, all we need to connect to the unchanging presence of love and peace eternal is as close as our breath.
My prayer for us is the courage to look within to find the permanence of love and peace that exists within us always.
If God is consistent, then what stands in the way of you connecting to your heart where the permanence of God’s love resides this very moment?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Worldliness!

God is all.  Too see the world around us fully we are called by God to see God in all things.  Sometimes it is harder to find God in something and so instead of making the default we assume it is separate from us.  We make this decision quicker than we like to think we do but our brain has this automatic categorization that occurs.  It is a survival method.  Looking past what we perceive is what it means to live spiritually.  To seek the world as a place where God exists in all things is to embrace the worldliness of our existence.  The beauty in the practice of reevaluation of our original perception is the heart satisfaction of connection with something we first deemed separate from ourselves.  The whole world begins to open up when we are able to identify the similar part of ourselves with others.  We no longer have to spend our energy defending ourselves against something foreign to us.  We get to embrace the godliness of the world.
My prayer for us is the courage to pause and reevaluate our perception of others as simply our lack of identification of God’s presence in that part of our world.
If God created all and is in all, where in your world can you be open to seeing again the godliness in the world around you?   Share in the comments.

Be Of Safeness!

God holds.  One of the aspects of incest survival is the incessant vigilance for safety.  I had a mixed experience growing up in my house, there was a lot of love but also sickness.  For me there was an undercurrent of lack of safety.  I turned to things that I perceived as making me safe and food was a primary one.  It also had the dual nature of allowing me to check out and created a padding of fat around my body to protect me. Early on I learned that my voice did not adequately work to draw attention to my lack of safety no matter how loud I was.  As I live in a healthy body and do not use food to check out or pile on pounds of illusionary protection, I turn back to using my voice.  It has grown stronger over the years and the fact that I share about my experience in this blog is a demonstration of using my voice.  Amidst the terrifying experience I always knew the presence of God.  It is what kept me from going off the deep end.  There was some light present for me creating enough of a sense of safeness that I was able to keep going.  I believe that God makes room for this safeness for all of us.  No human being gets out of this life without something to overcome.  Finding the light of safeness within our own traumatic experience is the seedling of a belief in the power of love.
My prayer for us is the courage to notice if a lack of safety in our current experience is keeping us from the belief in the power of love today.
If God provides a safe place in our hearts where love can bloom, how might you behave in a safe way for yourself to allow that love to grow today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Restoration!

God renews.  Our eyes are clouded over by our fear and we have let darkness set in.  We did not turn a blind eye to love all at once.  It happened little by little.  We are offered the opportunity to restore our sight when we welcome in the gift of the Spirit into our minds.  It lives fully in our hearts at all times but when we default to using the eyes in our head as our source of sight we lose touch with the eyes of our heart. Embracing God’s vision restores the connection to the eyes of our heart which see with love.  There is no room for fear to dominate our vision when we can be restored to the vision of God that lives in our hearts.  It can happen as quickly or as slowly as we choose to invite God in to restore our vision. With restored vision we can take in a fuller view of our lives and witness the miracle of love around us in all forms.
My prayer for us is the courage to invite the Spirit of God to restore our vision so we may be restored to the vision of love in our lives today.
If God has placed within us the vision of love readily in our hearts, what area of your live would you like to have restored to love today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Starkness!

God shines. Is it any wonder that the brightest star, the Sun, is the energy that vibrates through the whole universe giving light and life is what all the planets in our solar system revolve around? Would not the same apply to us?  If God is the center of our universe then the light of love is what we are revolving around.  Maybe the reason we get off course is because we try to revolve around people, things, or beliefs that are not nearly as life-giving.  The limits of anything that is not The Creator will certainly fall short in its ability to fully sustain us.  Sure, they provide some life-giving experiences but in the end, even they will fall short because they are not themselves the Creator.  God stands in stark contrast to everything else in existence because of the vital wholeness present in being the Ultimate Creator of All That Is.  And this stark nature of love wants to be as close to us as possible.  How can that be?  I simply do not understand how God thinks.  Why would God do so much to show me love in all the things God created that surround me, feed me, embrace me, and enliven me?  No other reason but love.  I want to stand in the starkness of requesting God enabling me to believe that God knows what God is doing when he reaches his hand for mine in love.

My prayer for us is the courage to embrace the stark nature of God’s love just a little so that we might know how precious we are to God today.
If God wants to be the essence of our universe, what might enable you to step closer to embracing the stark stance of belief that God knows what God is doing in loving you today?  Share in the comments.
