Sharing my experiences and understandings of the Great I AM.

Be Cognizant!

on May 12, 2013
If I believe that God created everything and that within all of God’s creation God is present then, I am called to be aware of the presence of God within every person, situation, and thought and experience.  That includes of being aware of God within me.  So many times I think we look for God “out there”.  We find ourselves asking, “Where are you God? I can’t see you.  Reveal yourself to me.”  Then God calls us to look within ourselves and we reject that notion.  How could God possibly be dwelling within me?  When I slow down and look within me all I see is what is wrong and what is a mess and so then I run back out.  It requires patience and persistence to stay and see that God is not only within us but right in the mess.  He is already gotten himself dirty and he is down there with a flashlight of hope and encouraging us to come see things with His perspective.  The reason we are called to find God within ourselves is because if we are to be an expression of God to the world around us we must first be aware of where he is within us.  The beauty of God is that He uses whatever he can for his purposes.  St. Paul writes about this in his letter to the community in Rome: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him …”  Our part is to be willing to see God within us.  If we cannot see God within us, how can we see God anywhere.  At the end of the day it is just me. At the end of my life I don’t get to take anyone or anything with me so I need to know where God is within me.  My prayer for you today is that you become aware of God within you.  Maybe you will be surprised to find him in a place that you don’t want to go.  Make it a great one!  Peace~Colleen
