One of the gems of taking the time to slow down and draw closer to God is that we begin to draw closer to our own hearts. When we take the time to get close to our hearts we recognize our passions, our creativity, and what moves us.  In other words, our heart-speak.  These are actually expressions of God in our lives.  For a long time I thought if I just blanketed everything as wanting to do what God wants me to do then I would be “okay”.  I think I was looking for a way to do things perfectly, not get hurt, and be unaffected by the world.  But what God wants me to do is listen to my heart.  Pay attention to what motivates me to move in a specific direction.  What am I drawn to?  What are the things that when I am involved I lose a sense of time and place?  What actions that I take cause me to feel connected to God and to the world around me?  Those motivations are the makings of my heart.  Those are my God-expressions that I am gifted with and can share with the world.  Life is about paying attention to those things and working towards co-creating a life in which I live out those ways of being more and more.  It is about being open to learning.  When I spend my date time w/God I get a chance to reflect and be still in my heart and in my soul.  My mind quiets down (most of the time–though in the beginning it took a while) long enough for me to recognize who I am and why I am here. Connecting with our God-expression is why we are here.  My prayer for you today is that you have enough pause in your day to recognize the messages of your heart.  To see that what moves you, is God’s move for you so that you can be God for the world.  Make it a great one!  Peace~Colleen
