In general we all have to seem this MO of trying to do it ourselves. I am not sure if it is an American way of being or just a self-actualization that causes us to take on this attitude.  There is nothing wrong with this except that it doesn’t always work. Humility, seems like humiliation if we only carry around the view that we are supposed to be able to do it all on our own.  Again, I go back to reality: we are surrounded by billions of people  So the notion that I am supposed to do everything on my own simply is not true.  One of the things that I have learned, begrudgingly at times, is that I create more suffering for myself when I insist on doing it on my own.  I deny myself the peace and sense of being cared for when I don’t connect to God and to others.  My prayer for us today is that we take something that is causing us dis-ease and ask God for the willingness to rely on something more than ourselves.  Make it a great one!  Peace~Colleen.
