Sharing my experiences and understandings of the Great I AM.

Be in Obedience!

on April 22, 2014
The concept of obedience sometimes makes my hair stand on edge.  Perhaps because I associate it with blind compliance to authority.  Growing up in school I was the good girl to a fault.  I certainly saw the simplicity and ease of obedience.  But sometimes I took it to far and didn’t question what was being asked of me by persons in authority.  Most things turned out to be for my own good–complete the homework, study for the test, show up for class, be kind to your classmates, do your best, etc.  However, instead of just obeying principles I also obeyed others ideas not realizing that they were simply sharing their own experience.  I learned later on that only my own personal experience would show me what I really needed to understand about certain things in life, but as a kid you don’t distinguish between the two.  Today my obedience is to my Creator as I believe my Creator knows and understands all of me and is interested in my greatest good.  I am obedient to the best of my ability with what I think God’s will is for me because I have learned that God’s vision of me is greater than my own.  I have a limited human viewpoint, God’s sees and knows all.  Therefore, I am imperfectly obedient to LOVE.  Obedience is not about being a good little girl who gets the gold sticker on the chart.  Obedience is about connecting to my spirit and aligning myself with the design of my heart.  While we often scoff at obedience as a concept arguing that we are not minions or a non-thinking entity who blindly obeys the mass consciousness, when we don’t choose what to be obedient to we do blindly follow along.  Then, I have to ask myself how often do I blindly obey my own thinking without stopping and questioning it?  It is not a matter of whether or not I am being obedient, it is a question of to who or what am I being obedient?   My prayer for us today is that we be open to seeing the freedom of obedience to the Source of Our Creation and live it for one moment. Make it a great one!  Peace~Colleen
