I lean a lot on the expression, “If God brings you to it, then God will bring you through it.” If I truly believe that there are no mistakes in life, only invitations to grow, then I must trust that the Infinite God that I know in the deep recesses of my heart is powerful enough to be with me through whatever it is that I am facing. My pain comes when I rely solely on my own resources to get me through. I recognize it through my description of what is happening–I am overwhelmed, it’s not fair that I have to go through this, I am not enough, and so on. The martyr and the victim role are well worm grooves in my brain. But God did not design me for victimhood. God designed me for victory. I just have to change a couple of letters at the end of the word and I am rightly restored to my purpose. It is not up to me to get me through something, it is up to me to be ready to embrace and welcome in the power of God. My best moments of triumph have been when I let go and let God. I simply showed up ready to be and do as He would have me be and do. It is simple, but not easy, but I can be willing to do it today. My prayer for us today is that we pay attention to the conversation in our head about how we are limited and instead of seeing it as a personal fault, recognize it as an opportunity to be ready for God to demonstrate his power in our lives and the lives of others.
