Sometimes it feels like we are living in the midst of a war. Everything fighting for our attention. Ideas running around in our heads, balancing other people thoughts and opinions with our own, pressures of time and energy–phew! It’s a wonder we don’t just crawl back under the covers! So what is it that compels us out of bed and into life each new day? I believe it is God dwelling in us that wants us to connect with our true selves and shine that self to the world that gets us up and out. It is the hope that what we face each day is simply a way to demonstrate the power of LOVE, the power of God. If we believe that God is and always will be, then we can be confident that the battle has already been won. Those of us who know God in our hearts, deep down are confident in the Great Conqueror who is as close as our next breath. My prayer for us today is that we be willing to hold our heads up and stand in the confidence that our hearts have already been won by LOVE and whatever is vying for our attention is an opportunity to grow closer to that.
