God extends many invitations to us all day long. Sometimes we are aware of them and say yes, no, or not now. We think that if we knew the details of all the invitations then we would more readily say yes. God does not require a yes, God asks us to discern. God asks us to take a look at the invitation through eyes greater than our own and evaluate it. God asks that we step up and be present as God is so that we can make the decision. God invites us to meet with Him and spend some time seeing ourselves, our inner hearts that way that God sees them. As the Creator of everything that is and everything that we are, God sees so much more than we do with our two eyes. It is in the quiet meeting that God will reveal to us who we really are. But we must be willing to stop long enough and meet with Him. She is not going to take us out of our lives, but invites us to slow down and seek the inner knowing. Once we set aside that meeting time and a willingness to make it a part of our day, even if for a few minutes we can begin to get to know ourselves and God. It is easy to get distracted with all the things that demand our time from our daily duties to the people in our lives. It is simple, but not easy to make the time. It is important to be present to those, but if they take us away from time with the very being that we are, aren’t our priorities a little mixed up? If I don’t take care of me and get to know me, who will? If I am not willing to commit to me, who will? My prayer for us today is that we be open to meeting with God for just two minutes today with no agenda. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
