Sharing my experiences and understandings of the Great I AM.

Be With Responsibility!

on May 6, 2015

God creates an awareness in us that calls us to an aliveness that we find ourselves drawn to once we have been touched by it.  It brings forth a call to respond to God from an inner sanctuary that is beyond time and space. Our ability to respond is always there and it a choice we make.  I know I spent a lot of years vaguely aware that there was deep down this sense of peace and freedom with which I am connected.  The difficulty was that I kept looking for it “out there”. I thought it came from looking a certain way or behaving in an expected manner.  I thought I would connect with it once I achieved a specific status or obtained the job, the husband and the family.  I tried so hard to create it by trying so hard never to disappoint anyone.  I got a taste of it here and there but nothing every stuck.  Part of my spirit gave up, but part of it hung in there.  When I had driven myself to the point of destruction and almost hopelessness, the call came yet again.(God is persistent 😉 )   This time I chose to respond.  I responded from a place within me that I didn’t know existed anymore.  I had stopped listening on some level.  Yes, I had a relationship with God but how could I connect with God about things that I had disconnected myself from?  How could I respond when I had handed over that ability to others? I kept looking to others and situations for my sense of self, sense of security, sense of peace.  That meant when situations or people showed up that way, I was okay.  When they didn’t I was out of luck.  In building this daily relationship with God I have seen that when I reconnect with that place in my soul and in my heart that is always vibrating and echoing the love of God (even when I don’t “feel” it), I find the peace I got sometimes from the outside world.  If I take my ability to respond and choose to do so I am no longer at the mercy of what is happening outside me.  My prayer for us today is that we heed that call deep within to step up and respond to our heart and soul’s longing to be reconnected with ourselves and with God.  Make it a great one!  Peace~Colleen
