Sharing my experiences and understandings of the Great I AM.

Be Of Safeness!

God holds.  One of the aspects of incest survival is the incessant vigilance for safety.  I had a mixed experience growing up in my house, there was a lot of love but also sickness.  For me there was an undercurrent of lack of safety.  I turned to things that I perceived as making me safe and food was a primary one.  It also had the dual nature of allowing me to check out and created a padding of fat around my body to protect me. Early on I learned that my voice did not adequately work to draw attention to my lack of safety no matter how loud I was.  As I live in a healthy body and do not use food to check out or pile on pounds of illusionary protection, I turn back to using my voice.  It has grown stronger over the years and the fact that I share about my experience in this blog is a demonstration of using my voice.  Amidst the terrifying experience I always knew the presence of God.  It is what kept me from going off the deep end.  There was some light present for me creating enough of a sense of safeness that I was able to keep going.  I believe that God makes room for this safeness for all of us.  No human being gets out of this life without something to overcome.  Finding the light of safeness within our own traumatic experience is the seedling of a belief in the power of love.
My prayer for us is the courage to notice if a lack of safety in our current experience is keeping us from the belief in the power of love today.
If God provides a safe place in our hearts where love can bloom, how might you behave in a safe way for yourself to allow that love to grow today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Restoration!

God renews.  Our eyes are clouded over by our fear and we have let darkness set in.  We did not turn a blind eye to love all at once.  It happened little by little.  We are offered the opportunity to restore our sight when we welcome in the gift of the Spirit into our minds.  It lives fully in our hearts at all times but when we default to using the eyes in our head as our source of sight we lose touch with the eyes of our heart. Embracing God’s vision restores the connection to the eyes of our heart which see with love.  There is no room for fear to dominate our vision when we can be restored to the vision of God that lives in our hearts.  It can happen as quickly or as slowly as we choose to invite God in to restore our vision. With restored vision we can take in a fuller view of our lives and witness the miracle of love around us in all forms.
My prayer for us is the courage to invite the Spirit of God to restore our vision so we may be restored to the vision of love in our lives today.
If God has placed within us the vision of love readily in our hearts, what area of your live would you like to have restored to love today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Starkness!

God shines. Is it any wonder that the brightest star, the Sun, is the energy that vibrates through the whole universe giving light and life is what all the planets in our solar system revolve around? Would not the same apply to us?  If God is the center of our universe then the light of love is what we are revolving around.  Maybe the reason we get off course is because we try to revolve around people, things, or beliefs that are not nearly as life-giving.  The limits of anything that is not The Creator will certainly fall short in its ability to fully sustain us.  Sure, they provide some life-giving experiences but in the end, even they will fall short because they are not themselves the Creator.  God stands in stark contrast to everything else in existence because of the vital wholeness present in being the Ultimate Creator of All That Is.  And this stark nature of love wants to be as close to us as possible.  How can that be?  I simply do not understand how God thinks.  Why would God do so much to show me love in all the things God created that surround me, feed me, embrace me, and enliven me?  No other reason but love.  I want to stand in the starkness of requesting God enabling me to believe that God knows what God is doing when he reaches his hand for mine in love.

My prayer for us is the courage to embrace the stark nature of God’s love just a little so that we might know how precious we are to God today.
If God wants to be the essence of our universe, what might enable you to step closer to embracing the stark stance of belief that God knows what God is doing in loving you today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Blessedness!

God knows. The basic truth of who we are is holiness.  God designed us as vessels of love so the world might know and experience in their hearts the truth of love from so many angles they could not run from it if they tried.  We don’t normally see ourselves as blessed because we have all these fixed ideas of what it means to be holy.  Most of the time the definition in our minds is one of perfection and extraordinariness and therefore, not us.  So we excuse ourselves and try to avoid facing the truth of who we are.  God created us whole for love and therefore we are holy.  We can deny it and run from it but we can no more erase our blueprint than we can erase the existence of God.  Our task is to be willing to dismantle piece by piece the stories of lack of blessedness we have built up and rediscover the blueprint.
My prayer for us is the courage to accept in some small way the truth of our blessedness today.
If God is all-knowing, how might God knowing of your holiness change how you see yourself today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Bounty!

God gives.  There are no restrictions when God gives.  The bounty of love is unrestrained. The level of our perception of the giving may be confined to specific requirements or conditions.  God does not have these same limits of perception.  God is ready and willing, it is our job to receive.  There isn’t a condition for the ability to breathe.  It is only a matter of taking in the air.  Each person is given this capability, it is up to us to tap into it.  The bounty of love resides within us at all times.  It is the blocks and restrictions that we place over our heart that keep us from connecting to it.  Our mind then latches on to the story attached to the blocks and restrictions which create a shell that prevents us from looking underneath.  We believe the ideas because we repeat them in our mind.  God simply wants to remind us that we need not believe what our minds tell us about the capability of love because it all too often gets disconnected from the knowledge of the bounty of love.  The spirit of God is that which can bring us to an opening in the shell.  Once we are willing to still ourselves long enough to take a look, we can begin to uncover the bounty.  We get to choose if we want to hold on to our restrictions and blocks or let them go.  We can even choose to let them go on a case by case basis so as to build evidence for the mind to remember the existence of the bounty of love or all at once.  God is in no hurry and God knows the bounty awaiting our recollection is far beyond the reaches of our mind.

My prayer for us is the willingness to get still and take a peak beneath the shells of restriction and conditions placed on our hearts and see if there is the bounty of love of which God speaks today.
If God is willing to step by step allow us to be reunited with the bounty of love in our hearts, what restriction are you willing to question today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Establishment!

God declares. Within our hearts there is an establishment of the power of love.  This is not something we create.  It is part of our blueprint.  No human being is created without the presence of love established in them.  We grow up either learning to access our established nature or not.  Or perhaps only in given circumstances are we made aware of its presence.  At any point in time we can choose to rely upon it.  We may need to clear off the things or ideas we have placed on top of it, but our lack of use does not make it any less powerful.  The only requirement is a desire to connect with our established nature. I call to God to connect me to my heart so that I may remember for what I have been called and established in this world. I cannot do it on my own.
My prayer for us is the curiosity to explore what has been established for and within us today.
If God created a blueprint of love in all of us, how might you be open to exploring your established nature today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Immersion!

God fulfills.  The quintessential nature of being is propels us into the immersion of love.  We awaken to that which is in and through us operating all the time.  We have grown distant from it in our minds and lost touch with its presence.  God does not change availability or reality based on our awareness.  This is the good news.  It means the moment we make the decision to be aware of the immersion of love of which we are a part of at all times, it is there.  I lose sight of the immersion when I am not able to see the people in my life as the innocence they are.  Something harsh is said on both our parts and I step into judging myself for being unloving.  This creates the lens through which I see and hear them and next thing I know, I can see nothing but fault and blame for both of us.  First, I must awaken to what has happened in my mind, then I can willingly reach for the hand of God to show me the way back to my heart and presence myself in the immersion of love.
My prayer for us is the courage to pause and notice when we have lost sight of the immersion of love that is at all times today.
If God knows we are able to present to love at all times, how might God assist you today in increasing your awareness of the immersion of love within you?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Appointment!

God is today. We are called at each moment to live our the fullest extent of our purpose in love.  We have been appointed  as God’s emissaries of love.  Who better to live out the essence of their creation than those who struggle with its very nature on a daily basis?  Just because God has confidence in our ability to be the love we are, does not mean that we do at all times. In order to be the appointed representation of love we must explore all the facets and experiences of who we are from the inside out.  It is not about being the face of love but the heart of fear.  It is about meeting the face of love and inviting it into to our hearts to reawaken the love that is built-in.  It is a lifetimes process to be the appointment of love.  It is an engagement in daily appointments with our creator to know the true nature of God and thus ourselves.  The only question remaining is are we willing to show up for our appointment with love today?
My prayer for us is the willingness to keep the appointment of our heart to connect with God today.
If God has confidence in our appointed quality of being love, how might an interaction with All That Is increase the chances of you showing up to be the appointment of love you are today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Equity!

God is all.  It is an unreachable mystery to us why certain things are allowed to happen or exist.  Sometimes we just cannot wrap our heads around the concept of accepting of what is.  It might be a situation at work or how a friend or stranger is behaving.  Half the time driving around Los Angeles I do not understand what makes people do the seemingly reckless things they do in their cars.  I am however, fully aware that I do not have the full picture.  I do not know where that person’s mind is when they are driving their car.  I do not know what happened just before they got in the car.  I certainly have no clue how long they have even been a driver.  Who am I to say what they are doing or how they are being is wrong?  Maybe their behavior awakens me to pay closer attention to what I am doing.  Maybe their interruption in my drive is keeping me from getting in an accident.  One of my favorite spiritual thinkers, Florence Scovel-Shin, writes about the importance of acknowledging a desire or wanting with the tag line of “if it is for the greater good.”  To me it is about recognizing I cannot possibly see all of the reasons or outcomes in a situation. It is about acknowledging what I might want or like in a situation but turning it over to a power greater than myself who can see all.  Life is so intricate and God invites us to place equal importance upon the love within us all.  I used to think equity in love was about treating everyone exactly the same, making everyone my best friend, or sharing all of myself with everyone.  I learned through trial and error that equity of love is about intention.  It is about an openness to seeing the people whom I meet and interact as the innocence of love they are.  It is about asking God to help me see others this way when even they don’t see themselves this way.

My prayer for us is the willingness to ask God to help us exercise the equity of love with everyone we encounter today, especially those for whom it is the most difficult.
If God encourages us to embrace love fully in everyone, how much you be able to expand your equity of love to one more person that you may not think deserves it today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Reflection!

God lights.  When we remember the truth of who we are we reflect the love of God to all the world. We are designed to be the messengers of the love within all beings.  We need other in our lives to remind us of the truth of who we are because we forget.  It is easy to get caught up in thinking who we are is what we do or what we have accomplished.  It is in our conversations, printed on our resumes, and typed up in job evaluations and posted on our Facebook pages.  Look at me and all I have done and the people who like me.  It is like we are dying to prove something.  But what?  Prove that God was right to have us be the reflection of love?  A reflection just is.  What it reflects is in its being.  We need God to remind us of the truth of who we are.
My prayer for us is the courage to ask God to remind us how we can be a reflection of love in our lives today.
If God designed us to reflect love, how might God enable you to experience the power of being your own reflection today?  Share in the comments.
