God is seamless! God is unbounding! God is irrefutable! When we remember that we come from the place of honesty, truth, and authenticity we are able to engage more fully in love. So much of the energy that we expend needlessly in this world is in pretending to be something we are not. We do it in big and small ways. The biggest way this has shown up for me is in how I edit myself so that I fit in with what I think are other’s expectations. I learned as a little girl what was acceptable and got positive attention and what did not. Others clearly didn’t care what kind of attention they got, but I wanted either positive or none at all. I would rather be invisible than disliked. Perhaps I already was carrying around too many messages of being wrong and at fault that I couldn’t handle any more confirmation. This defense of character has served me very well in my life until it hasn’t. The reason why isn’t so important anymore. If I truly believe that God created me to be me and not who I think or others think I should be, then what am I doing? Why am I busy making myself or other people my God when I know in my heart of hearts who my One true beloved is? I don’t go on a date every day with anyone else. I don’t see anyone else showing up over and over in a so many ways I can never keep track. I don’t experience the mercy in my heart coming from anyone than the One who created me. Spirit has shown me on many levels that the greatest return I can give for the gift of my life is to live it authentically as me from my heart. I think that is what BEING on a spiritual path is about. We are all manifestations of God in our own unique fashion. Why would I deprive the world of love in the only way that I can sincerely give it? My prayer for us today is that we embrace the sincerity of who we are as a message of love to one another and ourselves. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
Be With Sincerity!
Be With Filling!
God holds closely the hearts of his creation. Within God’s hands lies the fullness and the sanctity that our souls crave. The restlessness that exists in our hearts can only be brought to a place of peace by the One who created our hearts. We try valiantly to fill our hearts with what the world offers-affection, accolades, relationships, jobs, possessions, spiritual titles, and more. These things may fill our cups for a while but only the love of Our Creator allows us to overflow with so much love that we cannot help but be who we are called to be. Being filled with God’s love allows us the freedom to operate without fear. It grants us the courage to share that of which we are made because we know nothing else is real. My prayer for us today is that we be turn to God to fill our hearts so that we may live from the place of fullness of love. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
Be With Subtlety!
God is the beauty of an exhale after a hard work out. God is the grace of rain drops from steaming monsoon clouds hovering over a city. God is the bounty of a field of dandelions that sing in the swing of the wind. These subtle elements of being alive are what make God the grandest of all grand energies. In a world that is always looking to the biggest, brightest, most outlandish demonstrations of greatness, the simplicity of God can be eluding. God is the Greatest of All Greatness. God is All There Is to Be. God’s greatness is not in question, so there is the freedom to express the greatness in the subtlest forms. Those subtle forms speak to the energy of our hearts. The subtlety of a breath, a drop, and a swing in the wind can mean the world to those who are in most need of them. God’s expressions of love knows no limit. God’s demonstrations of truth and peace cannot be measured through comparison. God’s work is exactly what is needed, when it is needed by those who look to God for their heart’s completion. There is no mistake that when I am stuck in my head about something while driving home in traffic that the next car I am behind has a bumper sticker that says “Smile”, “Believe” or something that makes me smile. It is not a mistake when I am not certain if I am where I am supposed to be that when I get there, I come across someone whose presence reminds me of God. There are numerous “coincidences” and happenstance occurrences where God remains anonymous. Our work is to begin to notice these God-incidences and trust that we are not alone. It is not easy to believe in the subtlety of God, but it is a choice we can make. My prayer for us today is that as we look back over our day and reflect on the subtleties, we can begin to recognize just how many God-incidences were present. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
Be With Stillness!
God is the beginning and the end. God is the constant one. God is not found anywhere but here in this moment and within our very hearts. Sometimes it seems as though God is hard to find. We see evidence of God’s absence all over the place. But is it truly God that is absent or us not being in our God-nature that is absent? We like to blame God for things but as I have grown in my relationship with God I can see that those are simply manifestations of the work of humans because does not infringe upon our free will. God is always offering a new beginning and we can commence on the path in either our ego-mind or in our hearts. It sounds easy to choose our hearts and the mind of God but it is the surrender of our will (the certainty that we know what we know) that we fight. Our head speaks the loudest and first. We are so used to listening without questioning. This causes us to mistake the will of God for our own. God speaks in the still soft voice. To hear it we have to slow down and listen in the stillness. Just like our heart beating. We know it is happening but to actually hear it we need to get quiet and still. When we do, we notice the rhythm and the flow that is happening inside of us. It reassures us that no matter what life is presenting to us on the outside, the constancy of God’s love is alive and well within us. In that moment we don’t need to know anything else and the ego that thrives off of knowing is lost. My prayer for us today is that we be open to spending a few moments in the stillness within our hearts and be reminded of the eternal and constant love of God. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
Be With Godpoise!
God of All Creation is present in all things. The lover of life is poised to share that love which is why you are here reading this message. We are all called to do the same. As the creation of the Creator we posses the same confidence to share with all of humanity. Everything we need is already inside of our very being. In our hearts is the burning desire to connect with our creator. In our souls is the writing of our design=LOVE. To live the expression of our desire and our design we need to poise ourselves and claim our birth right. To be present and in our Godpoise means living from the truth of who we know ourselves to be in our hearts. We are powerful because of our capacity to love. We have this power because it was given to us by our Creator who is LOVE. Sometimes it seems to me like the easiest or quickest fix is to separate, to see the difference, and to push away. At least that is what my ego-mind tells me. It is usually the first thought that comes into my head. In my date time with God I learned the importance of the pause. The pause allows me to notice the first couple of thoughts without acting on them. To have this poise of mind gives me the freedom to act from my heart which sees only connection, similarities, and how to bring love in closer. The more time I spend being and acting from my Godpoise, the more it seems the natural one. It is like our date time is partly spent in mind-training by God. My prayer for us today is that we be willing to pause and step into our Godpoise and act from there. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
Be With Direction!
God is the Power Center of all things in all directions. God is present every where in every thing at every time. There is no place we can go and not find God. God is the direction that we need in our lives. God is the compass through which we can direct our attention. More than any message I get clearly from God over and over is Keep your eyes on Me Colleen. No matter the situation or the circumstance it always comes back to where is God in this? It says in the Christian Scriptures: “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. ” According to Jesus the only true direction I need in life is the direction that God has laid before me. So why do we struggle so much to find our way? It comes down to trust. Either I believe God is everything or He isn’t. It is a relationship that I have invested my time in. On date at a time has allowed me to trust the way I do. It is knowing that when I show up each day for our date, God is there waiting with bated breath and very excited to see me. One day at a time has encouraged me to be willing to trust that the direction I need will come from my relationship with God. It is what gives me the courage to focus on God. My prayer for us today is that we be willing to look to God for the directions in our lives in the smallest of ways. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
Be With Immediacy!
God is now. God is this moment. God is reality. If ever there was anything we can count on to always be present it is God. Our minds wander into the future or hang out in the past, but our spirit is always present in the moment. When I am experiencing anxiety it is often because my mind is somewhere in the future. When I am experiencing remorse it is often because my mind is somewhere in the past. At all of those times, God is with me in the present. My body is always in the present as it cannot be physically anywhere else than it already is. I have begun to use my body as a tool to presence me in the moment. Now when my head starts going to someplace other than where I can bring myself back by paying attention to my breath. Most mindful practices start with a focus on the breath because it brings us to the present moment. You cannot be breathing in the air of the future and the breath of the past has already been and gone. Sometimes I experience sensations in my body and because of a previous experience my mind will make it mean that I am somewhere that I am not. My body isn’t doing anything other than naturally responding, but my thinking goes somewhere other than the immediate moment. As an incest survivor, I spent a large portion of my life blaming my body for doing what a body does. My healing work is about separating the story of the original circumstance of bodily sensations from the immediate ones that I experience today. I cannot do this alone. I need the power of the Present One, the Immediate One, and the Real One. By having the courage to stay in the immediacy of the moment that I really am present in, I can with God’s help begin to create a new story around some familiar sensations. My prayer for us today is that we notice when we are taken out of the immediate moment and ask God for the courage to return to the now. Make it a great one! Peace, Colleen
Be With Intrepidity!
God is a Bold God. God stands clear and defined as God. The firmness and boldness that God is resides within us as well. We can claim with equal intrepidity who we are in our hearts. The moment we choose to do so we experience a freedom and a sense of peace. It is not just a claiming with words but with our being. Our life is made up of who we are being. Our life is a series of actions. When we live our lives doing what we are supposed to do or what we think other people expect then we are making those other people our gods. When we allow ourselves to stand tall in the definition of our hearts instead of our minds it may cause some uncertainty. The fear stories begin and we wonder if we can do it. God stands with us in those moments so that we can choose to latch on to the fear stories or be our intrepid selves. I need this in engaging in conversations that are uncomfortable, taking action on things I want to procrastinate, or just doing stuff I don’t feel like doing. It is in the small moments of choosing courage that we build a life of intrepidity. God gives us the courage because it is who God is and God is within us. Courage means from the heart. Within our hearts is the intrepid nature of our being that can be expressed outwardly in action when we own who we truly are. My prayer for us today is that we be willing to stand with intrepidity and claim who we are in our hearts for ourselves and the world. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
Be With Contemplation!
God of All That Is has created a world that ebbs and flows. We are a part of that ebb and flow. It is present in us and around us. God calls us into times of quiet contemplation so that we can be one with the whole of creation. Our role is not more important than that of a rose but though its expression is different. We too are called to bring love into the world and to aid in its experience of beauty. We typically do it through our words and gestures. Ultimately we do it through who we are being just like the rose. When we own who we are and allows ourselves the process of growth, we are open to being given light from the Creator and taken care of by the Gardner. In times of contemplation on our date, God invites me, just as I am, to be with Him. God is asking me to spend time contemplating my connection to God. God shares with me the beauty of just being . There is nothing else to do and no other place to be. My prayer for us today is that we be open to contemplating the world by being in it as ourselves. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
Be With Vivacity!
God of All Aliveness surrounds us and places within us all that we need. We are called to be messengers of love. We are invited to grow in the likeness and image of our God. The Great Spirit lives with a contagious vivacity. This is the path set before us if we are open to taking it. It is hard to imagine in our mind’s eye that we could live and be an experience of such vitality that it would carry us through life. We are limited by the thinking that this physical existence is all there is. Anyone who has fallen in love can tell you that they know what it is like to be in another dimension where time and space know no bounds. This encounter with Spirit is not limited to romantic love. The invitation to vivacious living can be experienced through an every day walk with God. I who never thought it was possible to live with any sense of true freedom have been shown otherwise in my relationship with God. It is not present every moment but this mystical encounter and the recollection of it is enough to make life more than worth living. Those kinds of connections with God are part of what make the day-to-day that much more joyful because one knows in their soul the preciousness of each breath. I can stand outside, look up in the sky, feel the wind on my skin and start to cry because I realize that I am alive. It may sound all fluffy and cute but when your heart feels like it is breaking because the love that you are encountering is so much greater than you, the grounding of your breath is what keeps your feet on the ground. How did this happen? All I know is that I showed up day after day for our date. The rest God will have to share with you on your journey. My prayer for us today is that we be willing to believe that the vivacity of life is ours if we show up to be present for it. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
