Sharing my experiences and understandings of the Great I AM.

Be Of Observance!

God is present.  When we acknowledge the presence of God in all things we are calling to attention the sacredness that exists within everything.  It is the recognition of the purest nature of an element to see the presence of love in it.  When we observe the true presence of something or someone we give ourselves permission to treat it with sacredness.  Acknowledging the sacred increases the resonance of love in our hearts.  Then it is our hearts that become the observers and the eyes through which our perspective is formed. The observance and honoring of the sacredness is essential to building the sight of our hearts.  God calls us to observance of the true nature of life because it is already within our capacity.  God would not ask of us something for which we were not already equipped.  We can reach for the hand of God at any moment we decide to be in observance of the truth of life and God will kindly lead us in the direction of our hearts.
My prayer for us is the willingness to ask God to show us the viewpoint of our hearts so we may be in observance of the truth of life today.
If God gave us the capacity to see the sacredness of all of life, how might you be open to be in observance of this truth of life today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Withdrawal!

God is whole.  In my daily dates with God I see the elements of my thinking that create a barrier between me and God.  I am not always willing to withdraw them because they still work for me.  It usually takes the breakdown of a way of being or an idea that has run its course that causes me to let go and surrender.  I take God’s hand and ask to see it the way God sees it.  I am willing to withdraw my way of being and thinking when it is clear it is coming between me and God.  I cannot get to the point of withdrawal until I do and I find that fighting myself or shaming myself to get there before I am ready is futile and creates more havoc. God never forces withdrawal.  God just stands ready with open arm to embrace me and walk me to a sense of peace when I am ready to withdraw.
My prayer for us is the courage to be true enough to ourselves and acknowledge when it is time to withdraw into the arms of the peace of God.
If God will not force withdrawal of our painful thinking and being, how can you be more accepting of your resistance to withdrawing today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Infusion!

God is pervasive. There is no where in life where God is not.  The notion that we would rather not have God involved in certain areas of our life is also true.  God will not enter where not wanted.  God waits to be invited.  God’s presence is always available to us but in order to be infused by God we must welcome God. On my daily meditation dates is my chance to start off my day and bring my mind and my heart into alignment with the thinking of God.  Then as I go through my day God can infuse and use me to convey and be the message of love for which I am designed.  Then I am able to operate freely.  The infusion of love is of as much benefit to me as those to whom I am asked to convey the message.
My prayer for us is the willingness to seek out the infusion of God today.
If God is read and willing to infuse the greatest love at all, how might you be willing to receive the infusion of God today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Connection!

God unites. Life is full of multidimensional experiences.  Some we are more in touch with than others. Being in relationship with God and having our daily meditation dates has opened up my eyes to a myriad of levels of experience I did not know were there.  Early on in my recovery it was about coming out the numbness and dullness of life that I created by my abuse of food and body.  This created a sometimes painful experience of awareness that I did not realize was there in the simplest experiences of life.  I also woke up to the network of activity going on in my mind which seemed to be mindlessly driving me to pain and discomfort.  We all have this and we have heard some people refer to them as the tapes in our head.  The sadly funny part is that they are usually the same tapes played over and over again.  Talk about insanity of doing the same thing over and over again. I learned early on I had to begin to open my mind and then my heart to a new way of experiencing life if I was going to change the tapes in my head.  The reality is that I did not change them, but I took the action to facilitate God being able to change the narrative in my head.  It is what I understand as the journey from the head to the heart.  In my heart was the hope that there was more than I was experiencing as I began to let go of believing everything I thought.  Then my heart had room to connect and create a flow in my life.  First it was my commitment to be present with God and myself in our daily dates.  Then it was looking at what contrary thoughts I could use to affirm the sense of being I was cultivating in our relationship.  From there I continued to take action and found myself behaving (often before the thinking changed) in a new way.  The people around me who had gone down a similar path of destruction and come out the other side guided me step by step.  Each momentary connection where I remembered to look to my heart through a pause and a breath for the final verification of what I was experiencing or needed to do next slowly became a way of living.  I realize now that the disconnect between my mind and my heart is where my true suffering lied because I was cut off from being able to access the truth of who I am.

My prayer for us is the courage to pause and breathe so as to allow for the heart to connect to our minds and bodies and be the guide to living the truth of who we are today.
If God unites our hearts and minds at our creation, how might you ask God to assist you in cultivating the same connection in the little moments of your life today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Conveyance!

God expresses.  There is no shortage of messages of love conveyed by God.  Depending on our perspective we can be open to seeing and hearing the messages or not. We can be block the conveyor belt of love messages by looking at a different belt, hanging out in the wrong factory, or being fooled by the packaging.  One of the most mystifying characteristics of God is the use of all things.  I will simply never understand how it is that even tragedy can be used to convey the message of love.  I do not know how to wrap my head around how the presence of feeling anger can be used to convey the message of love.  Apparently the same misunderstanding applies to me.  How could I be the one to convey the message of God when I feel so unqualified?  How can I simply by smiling and looking another in the eye be the conveyance of God’s love to someone else?  It seems too simple.  I have learned it is not my job to understand, but to trust and accept that God’s ways are not my ways. I can be a part of the conveyance of love if I am willing to show up.
My prayer for us is the courage to show up to be used as the conveyance of love for today.
If God uses any and all things to convey love, how might you be willing to be the conveyance of love today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Welcome!

God invites.  The hospitality of God surpasses anything we can possibly imagine.  Many different traditions speak of the importance of opening the door to God.  Opening our hearts to love.  In order to welcome in what God wishes to give to us we are asked to be vulnerable and available.  In a world that seems to pride itself on constantly filling every open moment and exchange with something to occupy itself, it is hard to see the value in an open and welcome space.  Yet each of us at some point can remember when we were welcomed by another with warmth and kindness.  Everything from literal hospitality to the welcoming of a sharing of ideas comes from the desire to accept our true selves. I learned that the parts of myself that I did not make space for because I did not like did not make them go away.  To make peace and open my heart I needed to find a welcoming space in my mind and heart where I could accept myself the way God does.  It meant letting go of fixed ideas about what is worthy and deserving.  It meant being willing to welcome things  I was certain others would not approve of.  In the end, it is the welcome I get from taking a new breath,  the expansive invitation of the sky, or the open door of a church that warms my heart when I am afraid to find out if there is a person out there who would welcome me.  It is having a welcome space each morning on my meditation date with God that allows me to open my heart to the abandoned places in myself that are in most need of loving hospitality.
My prayer for us is the courage to welcome all of ourselves into our heart where God can show us how to live fully in love.
If God welcomes our presence at every moment in time and space, what might you be courageous enough to welcome into your heart about you today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Harmony!

God is rhythm.  When I was a kid we used to sing this song in Montessori school and while I don’t remember the name of the song the lyric that brought a smile to my face was “perfect harmony”.  Whatever that was, it sounded lovely.  Later on the few times I sang in a choir I would marvel at the different harmonies the soloists would sing and how it would add such grandeur to the music.  Every time I listen to a barber shop quartet or the Beach Boys “I Get Around” I have that same feeling of awe in the beauty of harmonies.  I realized that while the harmony was different from the standard line of music it compliments and enhances the song.  God creates us as harmony with the universe.  We each have our own role to play and it goes along with the music of life but none of us is always going to be on the standard line.  Sometimes we have to step just outside the standard stream so the marvelous music we are can shine.  Then we flow back into the standard and someone else’s harmony will begin.
My prayer for us is the acceptance that we each have a chance to sing our harmony in God’s song of life today.
If God created us to be in the song of life, what harmony do you want to play today that will allow the love you are to bring joy to yourself and others?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Purity!

God is whole.  As God’s creation there is nothing missing or unclear about who we are or what our purpose is.  There is a purity of reflection of God existing within all things created.  In my daily meditation dates with God I get a glimpse, a subtle reminder, a whispered notion of this reality.  The simplicity of being in the presence of All That Is connects me to the truest part of myself.  As an incest survivor I spent most of my life feeling dirty and impure.  On some level I thought I had to rid myself of anything and everything I was because it was bad from the inside out. Through my relationship with God, I have allowed the light back into my heart.  Step by step God has taken my hand and led me to see the purity of love that is and always has been in my heart.  God showed me that nothing I experienced or felt changed the reality of who I am.  I am always whole and pure and love, no matter what because it is how God sees me.  Slowly as I began to trust this I am now able to see the purity and wholeness of others and myself.
My prayer for us is the courage to allow God to show us the purity of our own hearts and rest in the love that is and always will be today and every day.
If God sees us as whole and pure and God created us, what might be standing in front of your vision that is keeping you from seeing your own purity today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Consignment!

God agrees. Our wholeness is the understanding of God at all times.  When we are in agreement with the vision of God we are in our true selves.  We have engaged in consignment when we surrender to our own truth.  Until that time it is an uphill battle because we are fighting God’s reality. The love reality of God is what guides us internally so that our way of being in the world is one of peace.  When we are at war with our own truth most things are a struggle, things don’t quite seem to match, and we find ourselves in pain.  We hold on to these false senses of self because we erroneously think that to consign ourselves to the truth of who we are will cause us to lose love of others.  When we keep our eyes and hearts focused on our relationship with God our lives are full of all the love we need.  People with whom we can be in consignment with of our truth and they of their’s are free to love one another without conditions.  This is the experience of peace and freedom that God promises in the truth of our hearts.
My prayer for us is the courage to consign ourselves to the truth of who we are and be at peace with love.
If God has equipped us with the truth of ourselves in our hearts, how can you step into consignment with this truth of you in love today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Sanctuary!

God is safe.  There is a refuge we find in the sacredness of our relationship with God.  This sanctuary is the holding space of love living in our hearts. It is a sanctuary safe and strong.  While we often think that experiences outside of us can change our nature, can cause us to know lack of love, nothing could be further from the truth.  To do so would undo God.  Our refuge can be found in the most vulnerable and precious nature of our being.  When we go within the quiet space of our hearts we find the truth of who we are.  We find God.  All the outside exploration for safety and security are fleeting if we are not able to connect to our inner sanctuary where the fountain of love runs always.
My prayer for us is the courage to take some time to explore our inner sanctuary of love today.
If God placed within us the capacity to connect with our true essence, what might be keeping you from connecting with your sanctuary of love today?  Share in the comments.
