There is profound prayer that I came across over 20 years ago written by Teresa of Avila. It is a reminder that we were created by God to do the work of God, the work of love. God has no hands, hearts, ears, or eyes and must use ours for love and compassion to continue. When I look down at my hands and realize the profound capability I have of using them to reach out in compassion I am humbled. I can also use them to clench and punch and write or type words of hatred and cruelty, the choice is mine. My prayer for us today is that we be open to how any one part of us can be used to help (LOVE) one another as God loves. Make it a great one! ~Peace, Colleen
Teresa of Avila (1515–1582)
Christ Has No Body
Christ has no body but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which he looks
Compassion on this world,
Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good,
Yours are the hands, with which he blesses all the world.
Yours are the hands, yours are the feet,
Yours are the eyes, you are his body.
Christ has no body now but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which he looks
compassion on this world.
Christ has no body now on earth but yours
