It is an illusion that we create when we have the thought that if we just knew what was going to happen we would be okay. The human experience, despite all its laws of nature and ebb and flow is filled with many unknowns. During the cave man times, the unknowns were much more life threatening than they are today. Our minds, however have the same reaction to an unknown of a job situation as they do to going into a forest and possible encountering of a tiger. Again, it is a genius of our minds that we can be prepared to face such danger. However, given that the danger is less life threatening, we can acknowledge that perhaps we need not be as fearful as our minds would like us to think. This is where turning to God with whatever it is that I am facing is helpful. God is the one true known in my life. If I believe that God is everything then I can face any unknown that comes across my path. It is the unknown’s in my life that I don’t see God a part of that are the true things to fear. However, the moment I notice them, they become an invitation to bring God into yet another part of my life. My prayer for us today is that we be willing to take a breath and invite God into our space of unknown and be dazzled by our Creator’s knowing. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
