God glorifies. The very nature of love calls forth the magnificence of life. It is through the expression of love we experience its splendid nature. We know this when we are awed and surprised by the beauty of life. We remember this when we allow our hearts to be moved in a magnificent fashion by the simple exchange of love from a smile or a hug. The splendid nature of our hearts that God placed within us continually calls us to be in alignment with the blueprint of who we are at our core. There is no shortcut to getting to our hearts. For me, this meant facing the pain built around my heart first so I could participate as God melted the icy iron structure I had placed there. The only way to it is through it. The gift I discovered in being willing to do this was not what I feared, more ice and iron. Instead I found a splendid display of warmth and love that had been with me all along. If I had not been willing to take God’s hand and venture to bring the darkness into the light, I would have missed out on the splendid nature that grows unceasingly.
My prayer for us is the willingness to face what we think is our darkness and bring it to the light so we may see its splendor today.
