I am very grateful that no matter how confused or uncertain I get about God and what all is happening in the world inside and out of myself, God maintains a lucidity that is unaffected by me. Once fear and anxiety set it, it is easy for them to gain momentum in my mind.  I can quickly derail into a mindset in which I fear not even God can save me from and I don’t reach out.  Invariably God will place something on my path.  It is usually something simple like a smile, a bumper sticker, or a song on the radio.  It is a little nudge to bring me back to the lucidity of God.  It is not as though the fear disappears like some magic trick. Instead it is a calm nudging to come back to my own center and connect with what is real.  It is as though God takes my hand, warms it, and then draws it to my heart.  There in the space of my heart with a new breath I can experience the lucidity that is God at all times and in all spaces.  There in the space of my heart is the reassurance that the only real thing is love.
