When I find myself feeling separate from another individual it is usually because I have placed some definition or made some decision about who I think they are.  It could be based on how they are acting, what they say, or how they are dressed.  My mind will do this so automatically and it is hard to catch.  It is only when I return the engagement with them that I notice it.  My heart feels a bit more closed off, I sense there is something about them I need to protect myself from, or I am simply not open to really hearing them.  At that moment I need to expand my range past what I am perceiving to what God is seeing.  I cannot extend the range on my own.  I need not expand it just for expansion sake but if I am not careful my closed heart will be with me throughout the day and effect everything I see.  It then becomes about my effectiveness to live as I truly am, a beacon of God’s love.
