Sharing my experiences and understandings of the Great I AM.

Be Of Reception!

God signals.  God sends love flowing through the universe so it operates as designed.  In its nature, its is free-flowing.  Love requires both giving and receiving to function.  In the world a high prize is given to the giving of love.  Obviously this is important and an outpouring of who we are as embodiments of love’s creation.  But if there is no reception of the love that we send it does not flow.  Love is to be freely given and freely received.  So much of what we conceive of love is not this kind of love.  What we experience is a slight distortion that inevitably happens as human beings strive to become their true nature.  It is kind of like we are in the stages of learning to walk.  We will fall and get back up and fall again and get back up again.  Learning to love is like that.  Yet when we look for love in the world we expect it to come in perfected form.  When it doesn’t and we are hurt we get confused and think it means not to give or receive love.  The love of God is the perfection of love and this is what we want to learn to be receptive of.
My prayer for us is the willingness to explore our understanding of love by hosting a reception in our heart today for the love of God.
If God is giving love all the time in our every breath, what is standing in the way of your reception of this love today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Brinking!

God edges. Love is limitless. God surrounds us on all sides.  We can experience love no matter how far we take things.  No place or experience we have lays outside the boundaries of God because love is the boundary. Before I deepened my relationship with God I had some sense of certainty that as long as I was a good girl, nothing to terrible would happen.  I was not aware of what I had already lived through because my denial was so thick which it had to be at the time.  There were things in my life that were not optimal, but I was getting by okay.  I didn’t realize how disconnected I had become from my own sense of self and well-being.  Addiction is a convenient way to not be in reality.  When I made the decision to turn my life around and face the hard stuff I only had an inkling of my faith was tested. Reacquainting myself with feelings like anger and sadness I thought for certain would take me to the edge.  Being present in an uncomfortable and growing experience I just knew would take me back into denial.  Yet none of these things have.  Instead I have created a level of depth of living beyond my imagination.  I have had the opportunity to experience the power of love, joy, grace and know a beauty of heart beyond comprehension.  God has led me gently to a place where I have no certainty of what is around the corner.  The only certainty I have is that no matter what God has my back.  Whatever the experience, no matter how much it brings me to the brink of sanity or comfort, God will be there.  I have learned it is not about doing all the right things as though I need to earn God’s love.  It is about walking a path on the brink of life taking a chance that love will be there too.  So far, I am still standing, thank God.
My prayer for us is the courage to take our lives to the brink and experience the power of love in a profound way in our lives today.
If God stands ready at the brink to be the force of love that will not abandon us, how can God assist you in being willing to stand with the power of love residing in your heart today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Keenness!

God is sight.  The vision of God surpasses our own because it is not limited. The perception of God encourages us to see beyond our human eyes. God invites us to view with our hearts.  To do this we must spend time learning the language of our heart.  It is hard when so many of us have experienced a breaking of our hearts from hurt feelings and experiences.  In those moments we often decide to close our hearts to avoid getting hurt again.  This may work for a time but eventually it keeps us from being able to connect with our own hearts.  God has a keen perception of what kind of healing is needed in our hearts but will not enter unless invited.  Taking the chance that God can renew hearts takes courage.  I slowly built up the courage to trust in the keenness of God’s  mind  to repair my heart one daily meditation date at a time.
My prayer for us is the willingness to rely on God’s keen ability to restore our hearts to its purest form today.
If God is keenly aware of what we each need to be restored to love, how can God show you it safe to trust in God’s keenness and restore your heart today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Potency!

God is powerful.  The presence of the Almighty overshadows all other elements of existence.  Connecting with God is a remembering of who I am. There is a gentleness of power that resides in sensing all is just as it is meant to be.  It doesn’t have to be the way I want it and in most cases it is not, but the trust I have in God assures me that God’s potency will never lose power.  We are witnesses by our very being of the power of God.  We get lost in the thinking of the world which is constantly reminding us of our inadequacies.  The world is not enough and it was never meant to be enough.  Letting go of being a part of the system that perpetuates this mindset, has brought about a lot of tears.  As a child all I wanted was to fit in.  Heck, as an adult all I want is to feel a part of.  I can no longer deny  the potency of God’s love and acceptance which fills my heart in a way that the world never has.  It is what carries me one breath at a time.
My prayer for us is the curiosity to try leaning on the potency of God’s power to carry our hearts to a place of acceptance that the world cannot provide today.
If God’s love is more potent than all other elements in existence, what power of the world are you holding on to that you might be willing to exchange for some God potency today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Illumination!

God is colorful! Love illuminates the world.  The force beyond recognition sheds light on all things.  There is no nook or cranny that can hide from the light of love.  It isn’t necessarily about dispelling the darkness but of having the opportunity to see it for what it really is.  It is about not hiding in the darkness pretending that its familiarity brings safety.  The comfort that embodies the light of love far surpasses any comfort we experience in the darkness.  When I want to stay in a dark place simply because it is what I know and am comfortable, I have lost sight of the beauty that illuminates my life.  It is a beauty that when embraced shines the light of love to the very situation that I think lacks love. God looks me in the eye and reminds me that at my core, there is light, there is love, and there is life.  I believe my experiences of this world.  I think my circumstances tell me who I am or who I am to be.  I need the illumination of love to remind me to whom I am beholden.  I find it frustrating how easily I forget but God never tires in reminding me.  For God it is the dance of relationship and the opportunity to be sparked in a special way this day as I wake up to the illumination of love’s light in my heart this moment.

My prayer for us is the courage to receive the gentle illumination God shows us when we are willing to let go of the comfort of the darkness we know today.
If God does not begrudge us the number of times we forget the illuminated love that lives in our hearts, what do you get out of continuing to begrudge yourself?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Unveiling!

God is experienced.  Stepping into the realm of God’s understanding allows us to take a step back from our day-to-day moments and gather some perspective.  This has been my specific experience in my daily meditation dates with God.  The set time between God and I allows me to rest in God’s presence and accept my own.  Sometimes the noise in my head quiets down long enough for me to hear my own heart beat.  Regardless of what happens on the actual date, I have noticed a difference in my perspective over time.  I am able to look at my life in a more holistic manner.   Negative experiences are no longer are the step down a road I cannot come back from.  The truth of the reality of love existing at all times in all situations is unveiled.  God sees all things as were created, in love.  Spending time with God reveals to me the same truth about my life.  No matter what I have done or experienced behind the veil of that experience is love.  It is either a direct experience of love or a chance to grow in love.  I thought difficult situations were designed to toughen me up.  God sees them as chances to be enveloped by the veil of love.
My prayer for us is the courage to see the unveiling of love that God is a witness to for us and through us today.
If we are truly made in the likeness of God, how do you imagine love to be unveiled in your life today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Innateness!

God is natural.  To be our best selves does not require anything extra.  Being our best selves is what happens when we are in touch with our inherent nature.  Our innate sense of self is the core of who we are.  The design of love written on our hearts is our most natural state of being.  As we grow up and experience more and more as humans, we place layers of thoughts, ideas, and feelings on top of our hearts.  Those cause us to lose touch with our heart’s  essence. My daily meditation dates with God are a time to piece by piece remove the crusted layers that have hardened on my heart.  God rejoices the more we step closer to our hearts and patiently stands with us as we let go of the debris used to cover it up.
My prayer for us is the willingness to follow the innate longings of our hearts and be the love we are today.
If God designed us with a love that cannot be destroyed no matter how much we cover it up, how can God assist you in embracing your innateness today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Unfurling!

God is transparent.  Being in relationship with God opens the door for us to let go of an ties or contractions that are hindering our freedom.  God desires for us to live in harmony with being our best selves. God created us to shine and sees nothing less than our light.  God wants us to witness it ourselves.  God wants us to know the unfurling of our spirit  upon the world.  God wants us to share who we are and how we love with as many people as possible.  In the hindering of our own spirit we are not the only ones who suffer.  If we hide our light, the world will never know the shades of love we are meant to brighten the world and enlighten the hearts of all.  I always thought if I just adjusted what I said or how I said something or even didn’t say anything at all there would be peace.  There are times for holding our tongues.  But I have learned that when it comes to the truth of who I am, at the very least I need to share it with myself.  Pushing it down, ignoring it, making it wrong, or adjusting it to fit other’s approval is exhausting.  My spirit is weary as it has spent the last amount of energy it can spare in such efforts.  I can at least say I gave it a good try.  At times it worked very well.  At this time in my relationship with God I hear the call to honor my own spirit and share the love designed to be expressed through me.  One day at a time, one circumstance at a time, with God’s help, I am willing to explore love unfurling through me.
My prayer for us is the willingness to recognize to push to unfurl the love that we are at first with ourselves and then with others so that God can be made manifest today.
If God designed us each to unfurl love in our unique fashion, how can God provide the courage you need today to share the beautiful light that you are in this moment?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Acceptance!

God is good.  Each day when I show up for my meditation date, I am reminded of the simplicity of time spent being in the moment.  It has allowed me to realize in the moment there is nothing I need that is not already present.  All is taken care of.  I have no worries or concerns.  I stay present, breathe in and out.  I allow the thoughts come in my head and go out.  I do not need to attach to anything because I lack nothing.  God is present with me and I with God.  I am joined with the source of All That Is.  Nothing needs to be changed or fixed.  God models acceptance of me in the delight of my presence on our date and the joy of showing up.
My prayer for us is the willingness to explore the opportunities to learn acceptance through some date time with God today.
If God is ready to share with us the acceptance that exists in our own hearts, what are you willing to do today to accept God’s gift of acceptance?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Amplification!

God resounds.  One of the recurring practices present in most spiritual practices is the use of stories.  Human expression over the centuries is witnessed in narrative.  We connect with each other through our stories.  We convey ideas through stories.  Even math is taught using stories though I was never particularly fond of those word problems.  The ability to share an idea through a story allows us to get past opposition from those who might think they oppose a particular idea.  Stories give us the ability to amplify the meaning and purpose behind an idea in a non-threatening and non-invasive manner.  The strength of conveying beliefs and ideas through story allows them to transcend the moment.  How many stories of Buddha and Jesus are we still retelling thousands of years later?  How many stories do you know of your ancestors?  Without realizing it, the human narrative weaves its way through history and amplifies the beliefs we hold most dear to our hearts.  God wants us to share our stories with  ourselves, with each other, and with the world.  Each of us is the story of the power of love.  We can play our part in the amplification of love by sharing our story.  We are more than our story but we can use our story to break past the barriers that often surround the ears of our hearts and connect with one another.
My prayer for us is the willingness to recognize our story as the power of love present in the world and use it to amplify the presence of love for ourselves and others today.
If knowing, owning, and sharing your story gives you the power to amplify the presence of love in the world, how can God assist you in being willing to share it with yourself, others, and the world today?  Share in the comments.
