Sharing my experiences and understandings of the Great I AM.

Be Of Readiness!

God is here.  The beauty of the majesty of God is in God’s willingness to meet us where we are.  God does not require us to attain a certain spiritual level or becomes some sort of guru before God will work with us.  God senses our willingness to work in cooperation with God.  We are the ones who place specific demands or demonstrations of power before we think God wants anything to do with us.  Thankfully God does not see things as we do.  Take a cursory look at the characters in any sacred scripture from various religions and you will see that those who are in service to whatever God they write about are not the most outstanding people.  They are usually the people who show up.  God wants us ready to go today.  God can use where we are and who we are if we are ready to be used for the growth of love.  It only requires a willingness and an openness to the idea that where we are is enough.  The key for us is not placing our judgment of ourselves ahead of our readiness.
My prayer for us is the courage to step up in our readiness and show God through it that we want to grow in love today.
If God is ready for you today exactly as you are, how can you be ready for God exactly as God is today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Endurance!

God is.  Whatever happens in life.  One thing can be counted upon above all else-God is.  The being of love from which we all stem will never cease to be.  We can do all kinds of things and live through multiple experiences and none of those will undo the Beingness of Being.  As an adult woman incest survivor the pieces that I grapple with today are the leftover stories that I took on to save my sanity as a child.  Stories of confusion and shame, darkness and a needing to hide.  They show up in the most random of places these days.  Sometimes coming face to face with them feels like I am being yanked back in time and in the throes of my past experience. Everyone has these kind of experiences but maybe a different flavor.  We all have some unhealed wounds from our childhood that eventually call out to the light.  I find it reassuring when I hit one of these bumps to know that the Great Light stays lit even when I think I have fallen into darkness.  All I need to do is reach out for God’s hand and get my heart-light relit so I can endure through to the remembrance of myself as also a being of light and love.
My prayer for us is the courage to find ways to continue to endure no matter the outside circumstances or internal strifes by reaching out to the Light that never goes out.
If God’s light is always lit, what can you do today to connect with that light so that you might endure and be able to shine your light from within you again?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Creation!

God is the Creator of all.  We are who God created us to be. We are not the stories we tell ourselves about who we are.  Nothing we say or do can undo what God has created.  The love within you has not disappeared.  The joy in you has not been taken away.  The peace in you is not hiding.  When we measure who we are by the world we begin to buy into ideas that are not of God.  You would not look at a flower that has wilted and declare that it messed up.  You would acknowledge that it must be moving through a cycle of creation.  The same goes for us.  We have not failed as human beings because we make mistakes. We are learning.  Learning to remember the love from which we were created.  Learning to connect with the Creator who fashioned us out of love for love.  Releasing the stories that we have piled on top of our hearts is a process.  Each day, each breath is an opportunity to accept the reality of who we are according to God’s creation.
My prayer for us is the openness to acknowledge that God created us and we are forever at our core God’s creation and nothing else.
If you were to accept that you are a creation of God, what might you be able to view differently about yourself today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Strength!

God is powerful!  Being created by the All Powerful means we possess a strength that lies beyond our current circumstances. Who we are at our core is innately able to handle everything that comes our way.  Every circumstance, every person, and every situation is one in which we are gifted with the chance to demonstrate our strength in God.  One of my favorite Christian scriptures is from the writings of Paul to the community in Phillipi.  He tells them, “I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” We have at our readiness all the power we need. For me it is remembering that when I am struggling, feeling powerless or overwhelmed it is because I am trying to do it on my own.  I just need to lean back into the heart of God through my own heart to discover a source of strength that defies my imagination.  Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is remember that God is with us and provides the strength we need.  God is not going to do it for us.  God wants to do it through us.  We become the beacons of love when we allow the strength of God to shine through us.  This is what makes our weaknesses gifts.  Only by letting go of needing to do it only on our own strength can God use us to demonstrate the strength of love.

My prayer for us is the willingness to let go of the idea that we are supposed to do it on our own and surrender to the power of the strength of God moving through us at any given moment.
Where in your day today could you use some help remembering the strength of God being able to move you and thus move the hearts of those around you?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Luster!

God is brightness!  The balance of light and dark is what epitomizes the duality of the universe in which we live.  It is always darkest just before the dawn. God shares the creativity of life through the light.  The luster of our imagination is what carries us in the creative experience of our lives.  When we are shrouded in darkness we lose sight of the luster of our lives.  We think that the light will not return.  We think that we did something to keep the luster from being present in our lives.  What if it were just part of the natural cycle?  What if there is nothing wrong with lack luster?  What if it was the very thing that would catapult us into experiencing a brighter light within?  It doesn’t make sense but I have known it to be true.  Whenever I experience times of darkness it is always followed up by times of greater light.  The key for me has been recognizing that I am not alone in the dark.  God never leaves my side even when I cannot see God.
My prayer for us is the courage to trust that the luster will return after a time of lack.
If light always comes after dark, what might allow you to believe that God is with you in your lack luster and not get lost in the darkness today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Sensitivity!

God lives.  Our understanding of ourselves and our world comes from the multiple levels of senses through which we perceive our reality.  Physically, emotionally, intellectually, energetically, and spiritually are all ways in which we sense life.  Our decisions about what is happening in our reality come through the lens of our perceived reality.  How we understand “out there” has less to do with what is going on “out there” and  more to do with what is going on “in here.”  This is why two people can be present at the same event and see and hear two different things.  Have you ever noticed that when you are having a bad day that certain people seem to be annoying and when you are having a good day those same people don’t bother you? Our good and bad days are decisions we make within and color what we take in from the outside.  Our awareness of this sensitizes us to the filter through which we experience life in this moment.  The beauty of this sensitivity is the key to freedom. It provides us with the ability to decide to change our experience.  And when we have no idea how to change it, we can ask for help.  God wants us to experience all of life.  When we are sensitive to the energies present inside of ourselves, we can powerfully choose to direct them in a way that creates a world in which God thrives.
My prayer for us today is the willingness to be sensitive to how we are experiencing our lives in this moment and choose if we want to use our power to change it or keep it the same.
If we have the power to change our experience or ask for God’s help in changing what we are sensitive to in the moment, what would you like to change today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Fulfillment!

God is everywhere.  We find ourselves searching everywhere and in everything for love.  Whether we realize it or not we are attempting to reach a level of fulfillment.  All of us feels on some level that there is something missing in our lives.  No matter how much acknowledgment we receive, things we own, or relationships we have at the end of the day if we are honest with ourselves it feels like something is still missing.  Some describe it as a God size whole.  Fundamentally we were designed to seek our completion in our connection to our Creator. This means the missing element is as designed.  There is nothing wrong with us.  Perhaps it is simply that we are hearing the invitation of our hearts to redirect our focus and find fulfillment in a connection with God.
My prayer for us is the courage to seek the fulfillment of our longing with the God of All that resides in our hearts.
If we need not seek outside of ourselves to be fulfilled, what might be stopping us from sitting with our own hearts?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Moments!

God is revelation! When we find ourselves in a space of unknowing we can count on the idea that God will show us what we need to know.  There is an expression in 12 steps, “more will be revealed.”  It is the notion that we have what we need to know right now in this moment and when the time comes we will know more. My mind tells me that I need to have it all figured out before I can proceed.  The illusion is that I am lacking anything at any given moment.  Even when we think we have it all figured out it is based only our thinking because we are not in that moment in the future for which we are trying to prepare. We have no idea what twists and turns may occur before we get there which might alter the situation.  We cannot guarantee how people are going to react.  There are always unknown factors and we can spend our time being afraid of them or just be in the moment we are in.  In my meditation date time with God as I focus on my breath, God has taught me that I simply need to trust that the next one will come and be with it in the moment instead of trying to orchestrate its speed or comparing it to another one.
My prayer for us is the courage to trust that God never leaves us and therefore we always have what we need in this moment.
If we believe that God is All That Is and God is with us then what would enable you to trust that you have what you need to handle this moment today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Glory!

God is beauty and majesty!  Our Creator designed all of creation from a space and place of glory.  We are therefore innately connected to a sense of majesty in our very being.  When we encounter the light of love this glory within us is ignited as it speaks to our hearts.  We recognize it in the presence of beauty and love.  We feel it in the space of joy and harmony.  We live it in the moments of oneness with our breath.  This reality is ours for the experiencing when we choose it.  God does not require or force our hand.  God simply makes it available to us in the quiet space of our hearts.  I have found that when I am willing to let go of my demands and expectations of beauty, joy, love, harmony, and peace, all I need to do is breathe.  Over the years in my dates with God, I have been led gently to experience the bounty of God’s glory.   The meditation time with God is not when it happens necessarily. But the practice of quietness of being in God’s presence readies my heart when I find myself captivated by it during the day.  When I started on this walk with God, I had no idea what was in store for me.  I am so grateful to be endowed with the courage to stick through the moments of lack and seeming abandonment by God to this place of acceptance of the presence of glory in my heart.
My prayer for us is to take hold of the courage to stay with God when it is less than glorious so that we might be present when glory is revealed in our hearts.
When are the moments you feel connected to the glory of being alive?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Rejoicing!

God is celebration! Life is full of joy and recognition of the glory of being alive.  At any given moment we have so much for which to thank the heavens.  It is easy to get lost in the soup of focus around all things that are not going well.  Our brains seem to default to fault-finding notification.  It is an important life saving function for it to do so.  Thankfully , we are in an age in which we can do  more than just survive.  This means we can be grateful for those life saving aspects of our minds and redirect our focus where we want it to be.
My prayer for us is the courage to refocus our minds in gratitude for so much to rejoice about in being alive today.
If life is about celebration and rejoicing, how might God assist you in refocusing on the elements for which to rejoice in your life today?  Share in the comments.
