God is enthusiastic. God is energetic. God is alive. We are invited to share in the aliveness of our creator in a way that reminds what life is all about. Even in our breath exists the morale of life. When we stop and notice what happens to our bodies and our minds when we take a breath we get a sense of the wake up to life we are receiving. The morale that all of our cells experience at the receiving of fresh oxygen is something we don’t notice. Just because we don’t notice it doesn’t mean it is not happening. There is so much about being alive that we thrive from and yet have no idea is occurring. God can open our eyes to it if we wish. We can adjust our focus to those things that increase our morale for life by noticing the little signs of enthusiasm that are going on within and around us. It gives us renewed hope and energy to be present to all of life that is occurring within and around us. My prayer for us today is a curiosity for the morale of life that is happening all the time within us and around us. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
Be With Morale!
Be With Flowing!
God is rhythmic. God is intentional. We have the opportunity to flow like the rivers do with the love in our hearts. It is accessible to us at any time. We have forgotten how to tap into this flowing power so much that we are surprised to find it there. God placed within us access to the great love from which we were created so that with each breath we could be reunited with God in and through us. I have found that when I feel disconnected (angry, frustrated, irritated, or impatient) I find it difficult to turn myself back to a space of love by my will or thinking alone. The best thing I can do is touch my heart and take a few deep breaths. With the pause, somehow it reconnects the flow of love into my heart and then my mind. Love in my mind then becomes actions of tolerance, consideration, patience, and laughing at myself for being so irritated. My prayer for us today is a willingness to pause to get the love flowing again when we get disconnected. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
Be With Okayness!
Right here. Right now. All is okay. You are reading this, so your eyes are okay. You are comprehending the words you are reading so your brain is okay. You are breathing and thus know you are alive so you are okay. Perhaps it sounds simplistic but if we apply the understanding of whether or not we are okay in the moment, we can better assess our lives. God is right here, right now. God is okay right now. Chances are that all is okay in the next moment but we are not there yet so we don’t have to think about it. Any moment when we are breathing we are okay. We are loved. We have spirit. We can step forward. We are full of possibilities when we acknowledge the truth of being okay. There is nothing to fix and nothing to recover from. Being okay is about being in the present. The eternal is with us most fully in the present because it is where the eternal meets the physical. When I find myself spinning or jerked back into the past by an emotion I will stop and look at my hands, place one on my heart, and take a deep breath. With this physical gesture I am reminded that I am breathing in the present moment and I am okay. My prayer for us today is the courage to bring ourself back to our okayness through our breath whenever we find ourselves astray. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
Be With Intimacy!
God is intricate. God is close. God desires to be as close to us as possible. The energy of God is placed deep within us and His design is written in every cell in our being. God has left the mark of love in all that we are. This is why we are not fulfilled unless we live out who we are. We lack peace when we go against the very design for which we were made. The closeness of God’s being means that at every breath we can choose to live the expression of our design or not. We always have the choice. When I am not being the love that created me there is a disconnection from who I truly am at my core. I sense this discord and either cop to it or find ways of numbing it. Many years I opted to numb out. That is, until I could no longer sustain the habit. It takes a lot of food and sugar to numb out.. Not to mention the pain that comes from walking around in a 300+ pound body. Eventually the discomfort of carrying all that weight plus being checked out was just as painful as the discord I felt in my spirit and I had to find another way. Thankfully God led me to a way of living that allowed me to get up and out of the addiction I was living. The 12 steps called upon me to let go of my destructive ways of hurting myself and get to know me in the quietness of my heart. It calls for responsibility and courage to take action despite what I feel or think. These are the ways that guide my life today. Each day I am willing to see into me (intimacy) and seek God is a day for which I am grateful. God continually invites me to see me as He sees me. My prayer for us today is a willingness to be with ourselves and see into true self++ with God’s help. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
Be With Diligence!
God is with us at all times and in all circumstances. God does not wait for a good result before approving of us. God approved of us when we were created. With great diligence God holds a space of love for us that cannot be filled by anything other than love. Typically we wait for proof. The fact that we are still breathing is our proof of approval. It is not easy to stay the course when all signs point to it not working out. We are encouraged by God to look at the process and not the end result. It is who we are being with ourselves during the processes of life that is important. The process is what is happening right here right now. This moment is all we truly have and if we can be diligent in this moment then we are successful. My prayer for us today is a willingness to be diligent with ourselves in the moment we are in instead of waiting to approve ourselves when the results come in. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
Be With Inclusion!
God does not discriminate. God created all and therefore is within all. Our work is to find the God in every being that we encounter. This is our daily mission. If we cannot recognize ourselves in others then we are missing out on the joy of living. The moment we connect with others in a genuine knowing there is a sense of peace. We have destroyed the illusion that we are separate and have stepped that much closer to the wholeness of our heart and being. It is easy for me to see everyone as different and separate just by virtue of us being in different bodies. However, we are more than our bodies. We are all included in the only body that counts, the body of love. My prayer for us today is an openness to seeing the similarities and God in every one we encounter. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
Be With Abiding!
God is with us. God is within us. God transcends us. It is no mistake that we are all here for a reason. We were created out of love to be love and bring love to all the world about us. God never stops seeing us as we were created. God is connected to us and continues to connect to us in as many ways as possible. Nothing we can do nor have we done that will change what God created. It is easy to get distracted by our world that seems more real simply because of its physicality. It is only a tool to connect us with our true selves in hearts and spirit. When we begin to seek something deeper than just the physical experience we commence to travel a path of wholeness. The first step is to remember that the one who abides in and with us never forgets who we are. Our journey is to awaken to the realization of God’s knowing being different from our own. In my years of dating God I am continually reminded that as smart as I am I cannot ever know the true mind of God. God’s constant pursuing of me defies explanation. If it were up to me I would have given up on me a long time ago. I would have seen that I could never measure up and it was hopeless. Had I not wandered into the darkness that caused me to breakdown, I never would have witnessed the light that had been there all along. I could not abide in me. I thought it easiest to abandon me. I was sure on some level that God felt the same way. Funny thing when your back is against the wall, you either find another exit or create one. Face to face with only myself and God I had no where else to turn. It was either take a chance that God was more than I thought or blot out the rest of my time on the planet just hoping it didn’t get much worse. Today I have learned how to abide in me with God’s help. In doing so I have learned greater tolerance and practice more love with all people. My prayer for us today is a willingness to take a chance that God can abide in us even when we don’t want to abide in us. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
Be With Attentiveness!
Right here, right now is the moment we are all in. Right here, right now is the only moment that exists. The present moment is the time and place where the Eternal meets the temporal. When I want to fully engage in relationship with God I know that centering myself and bringing myself to the present moment is the best way for me to feel the most connected. God is not limited by where I am, but I can be. God is attentive to me right now in my thoughts, in my feelings, and in my physical experiences. My attentiveness to the current moment means all my faculties are focused and intentional. I am more alive in the present moment. This is what make it a gift. My prayer for us today is a willingness to be attentive to the very moment we are in so that we can fully experience God’s attentiveness to us. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
Be With Novelty!
God is present. God is alive. In our daily lives we get involved in a routine that has the potential to take us out of the present. We are familiar with the action and so we do not need to think about it in order to do it. This is extremely useful. Can you imagine having to talk yourself through tying your shoe laces like you did when you first learned how as a kid? How long would it take you to get to work if you had to pay close attention to directions or your GPS system every day? The fact that we embed a pattern in our brain to handle common routine things is helpful so that we can utilize our energy for all the new things we are going to encounter in our day. The challenge is when we approach every thing in our lives as a known quantity. We are constantly growing and changing and everything is alive. Whether we see it or not, there is always something new in the familiar just by virtue of the fact that it is alive. When we lose sight of the novelty of the people we are connected to, the jobs that we perform, the way we see ourselves, or even the path we drive to work we lose out. We no longer interact with our lives in the present, We only interact from a known experience in the past. Being present where God is calls us to be awake and alive and embrace the littlest of newness. We then remember the fascination of life and the novelty of being alive. My prayer for us today is the willingness to be present to the novelties in something that we just assume will be the same today as it was yesterday. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
Be With Heartening!
God is all heart. God’s heart and mind are one. The reach of God’s love knows no limits. If we want to experience the boundless design of love in our own hearts we must be willing to let go of what we know of love. Or what we think we know about what love is. On my dates with God I have found more time spent in my heart when I let go of the things I think I know in my head. If I think I know something I am less likely to be present to it because I already know it. In my mind there is nothing to learn or be present to. I can do this when it comes to love or with anything. The point is that the connection between my heart and my mind is stronger when I am not blocking the open nature of my mind. If I am willing to let go of what I think I know and be open to being in an experience, it is there for me to be with it in my heart as well as my mind. Scientists have discovered that the cells in our hearts have the same capacity to regenerate as the ones in our brain. We can also strengthen the pathway between our heart and our mind but it begins with an openness and letting go of barriers. My prayer for us today is an openness to letting go of what we think we know so that we can experience things through our heart and our mind. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
