Sharing my experiences and understandings of the Great I AM.

Be With Overtures!

Each day is an opportunity to experience the world anew!  Each moment of each breath is a chance to take in the “marrow of life” as Thoreau stated.  God calls us to this full experience by greeting us with this Grand Overture of our day in a breath. The Conductor begins to move his hands and guides us in playing our part in the orchestra for the day.  We are invited to participate in this beautiful symphony of life with one another.  The difference between us and an orchestra is we don’t have the sheet music to follow.  Or do we?  Perhaps the music is written on our hearts.  Have you ever noticed the players in the orchestra who close their eyes while they are playing?  As a kid, I wondered how they could read the music with their eyes closed.  Then I realized they were playing from their heart.  They closed their eyes so they could tune in and be one with their instrument.  We are called to do the same.  God invites us as the conductor to go within our hearts and connect to our music, to listen in the quiet to the heart-strings that tug from our soul and yearn to be played out in our lives. We are the instruments of peace that St. Francis asked to be.  We are the instruments of God’s message of love. My prayer for us today is that we be open to playing our part as only we can in the orchestra of life so that God can conduct the most beautiful overture ever heard to date.  Make it a great one!  Peace~Colleen

Be With Recognition!

The Great Creator and Grand Master of All That Is is within you at all times.  Your design was done all around your core essence which is of your Creator.  Within each heart, mind, and soul of every living energetic being is the mind of God.  God, therefore, is in everything and through everything which is why one cannot go anywhere God is not.  This is how even in the places and experiences we fear to tread, God is already there waiting with love.  We run from those things that we perceive as bad or wrong about ourselves and others.  But these things are not what is really happening. They are only our perception and fear that our ego has designed.  God is the only real thing there is.  Love is the only real thing there is.  When we choose to avoid or run from that which we fear we are simply buying into the idea that God is somehow not there.  God is everywhere and in every thing.  Love is everywhere and in every thing.  When we begin to recognize that we cannot run from our true essence and can embrace all of life and live fully.  It is hard for me to admit when I am wrong, when I have done something in error because in that moment I am not recognizing it as an opportunity to learn.  I see only the judgment of my mind which I have made god and forgotten the true God present in the moment. It is those moments of asking: God, where are you?  I do not see you here.  It is then that I am asking to be opened up to how God is present in a way that I never imagined possible.  Humility means being teachable.  If I am truly humble then I recognize that my perception of something being outside of God is incorrect.  If I am truly humble then everything is a lesson of love.  My prayer for us today is that we recognize the spaces and times of our day where we think God is not and stop and ask God if that is true.  Make it a great one!  Peace~Colleen

Be With Endowment!

God who is ALL LOVE created us by being.  We were designed from the desire to spread love in as many ways possible. The Great Creator endowed everything that lives (everything that has energy) with a love that surpasses all understanding.  We are the expression of love.  We are the testament of love. We are the inhabitants of love. We are the messenger of love.  We are love.  Every fiber of our being has love built-in.  This is why we are touched by it when we experience it.  It breaks us open and reunites us with our inheritance when we let go of our resistance to it.  We have just forgotten who we really are.  It is easy to forget because we live in this physical world and in physical bodies that demand our attention all the time.  We think our reliance can only be on things we can see with our eyes and touch with our hands.  We believe we are our names, our roles, our achievements, and our possessions.  It is not wrong to own those things, but we sell ourselves short of the ultimate endowment when we think that is all there is.  Why would a Grand Spirit who sprouts flowers on cactus in the dark of night or jump starts our hearts when we see an act of compassion limit us to only what we can physically experience? When I get caught up in being only my physical expression of myself and trapped in limitation, I ask God: Show me how there is more here than what I am seeing and feeling.  I know that You are greater than this physical moment that I feel trapped in, take me to where you are. My prayer for us today is that we be open to the opportunity to claim the endowment of God when we find ourselves confined by our physical reality. Make it a great one!  Peace~Colleen

Be With Reception!

God responds to us with love because that is the mind of God.  The power that comes with always being able to see the love extends beyond our understanding.  We can be willing to receive that love of which we do not comprehend.  When we make the choice to be receptive to the power of love sometimes we find ourselves stumbling along the way. This leads us to think that we are headed in the wrong direction or should not be receiving the love.  Instead, we can ask God to show us what barriers we are putting up to love and ask how they might be removed.  Each time I have taken steps towards being receptive to love the barriers show up.  The “parts” of myself that are wedded to the idea that love cannot be in and through all things, shows up.  Sometimes I get ill, other times I back away from people, and usually all of that is accompanied by loud stories in my head about what I am doing wrong.  My ego knows how to condemn me.  Thankfully God has shown me that these barriers are illusions.  It is the natural occurrence of waking up to my true self. The false self must be shed for me to be free, but it has to present itself first so that I can acknowledge it and say goodbye.  I find myself asking God to remind me that all is just moving through.  My prayer for us today is that we be open to the reception of love and just notice the barriers that come up when we do.  Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen

Be With Elation!

The waves are rushing to the shore, the planets are traveling at light speed, the birds are singing, the flowers are blooming, the morning dew is evaporating, there is fresh oxygen filling your lungs with your first breath of the day.  At any given moment in God’s world all kinds of exciting things are happening.  Depending on what we choose to focus on we can be as elated as God is that life is moving forward.  God has no doubt that Love wins every time so there is little reason to be disheartened.  When we are looking at all that is not going as we would like or we fill our future with expectations and conditions, we are no longer receptive to the signs of life’s elation that tingle our spirits awake.  My prayer for us today is that we be willing to let go of what we expect and be open to the many opportunities to be elated as God is with us at every moment.  Make it a great one!  Peace~Colleen

Be With Responsibility!

God creates an awareness in us that calls us to an aliveness that we find ourselves drawn to once we have been touched by it.  It brings forth a call to respond to God from an inner sanctuary that is beyond time and space. Our ability to respond is always there and it a choice we make.  I know I spent a lot of years vaguely aware that there was deep down this sense of peace and freedom with which I am connected.  The difficulty was that I kept looking for it “out there”. I thought it came from looking a certain way or behaving in an expected manner.  I thought I would connect with it once I achieved a specific status or obtained the job, the husband and the family.  I tried so hard to create it by trying so hard never to disappoint anyone.  I got a taste of it here and there but nothing every stuck.  Part of my spirit gave up, but part of it hung in there.  When I had driven myself to the point of destruction and almost hopelessness, the call came yet again.(God is persistent 😉 )   This time I chose to respond.  I responded from a place within me that I didn’t know existed anymore.  I had stopped listening on some level.  Yes, I had a relationship with God but how could I connect with God about things that I had disconnected myself from?  How could I respond when I had handed over that ability to others? I kept looking to others and situations for my sense of self, sense of security, sense of peace.  That meant when situations or people showed up that way, I was okay.  When they didn’t I was out of luck.  In building this daily relationship with God I have seen that when I reconnect with that place in my soul and in my heart that is always vibrating and echoing the love of God (even when I don’t “feel” it), I find the peace I got sometimes from the outside world.  If I take my ability to respond and choose to do so I am no longer at the mercy of what is happening outside me.  My prayer for us today is that we heed that call deep within to step up and respond to our heart and soul’s longing to be reconnected with ourselves and with God.  Make it a great one!  Peace~Colleen

Be With Spontaneity!

The Great Creator designed All That Is with love. Love is the signature on all that is present in the world.  Love is the underlying blueprint to everything that exists.  In order to fully receive this life we must be open to love.  To be open to the gifts of this life experience means we are prepared to be blown away by the power and the fullness of love.  I know that I am most open to receiving love when I have let go of anything that blocks it.  Typically this means letting go of my ideas of how it is supposed to show up and what it needs to look like.  When the spontaneity of love presents itself in the form I am not expecting I want an open heart so that I can take it in.  I want God to continue to show up in ways that are beyond my imagination.  If I can always figure out how and why God shows up the way love does, then I am God.  I simply don’t want that kind of responsibility. I much prefer a partnership.  My prayer for us today is that we be open to receiving the spontaneous expressions of love so that God can continue to show us the mystery of life and thus encourage us to be present in this moment.  Make it a great one!  Peace~Colleen

Be With Variation!

As beings of energy that are an extension of the Great Creator our prime resonance an energy wave that we send to the world is that of love.  When we are present in our purest fashion without all the extra layers of thoughts and beliefs about ourselves we are most ready to transmit and share this energy of love with ourselves and one another. The beauty of this design is that we are all gifted in different ways that we are able to convey the energy of love we have within us.  This variation of how love presents itself in the world is what is so fascinating and mysterious.  We are a gift and a contribution to each other in our own unique fashioning of love.  I know for me the only thing that keeps me from being the messenger is when I get caught up in the identity of my roles–daughter, sister, friend, co-worker, woman, etc. When I function from the place of what is expected of me when I am in that role I limit the resonance of my variety of love by what I think it is supposed to be instead of just living it from my heart.  My prayer for us today is that we be willing to embrace the variety of love that we are gifted to share with the world beyond the expected role that we are in at the moment.  Make it a great one!  Peace~Colleen

Are you willing to set aside the expected role of love that you are playing and just be the variety of love that is who you are at your core today?  Share in the comments.

Be With Valor!

God always shows up!  God is present at all times.  God is presence at all times.  Life is about showing up and being present in the moment.  When we are able to do that we find ourselves able to do things we would not normally be able to do because we are full present where God is.  Living takes courage.  Loving takes courage.  As humans we are often fearful and anxious and whether it is related to anything specific or not, it does not matter. Our minds tend to bend in that direction.  Scientists would explain that it is our cave man brain that is in this state because during those times, we were never quite sure what was around the corner.  Our very survival depended upon us being able to focus on the possible disasters and threats to our life.  Today we do not face nearly the kind of dangers that we faced then, but parts of our brain still have that inclination.  It is curious also to note that in the Hebrew and Christian scriptures, God is often quoted as instructing His people to “Be Not Afraid” and “Do Not Fear”.  God knows that we go to those places and God loves us still the same.  God uses those moments and experiences of fear and anxiety to invite us to choose the courage to live and love.  God does not necessarily make it go away, but encourages us to choose the power of presence anyway.  The valor required to show up despite how we feel or what we think is one of the most powerful actions we can do.  When we choose life and love, despite the thoughts or feelings of otherwise, we are choosing to be with the Eternal.  We are choosing to trust that we are more than our feelings and our thoughts.  We are choosing our birthright of an alignment with God that surpasses our current physical state of being.  My prayer for us today is that we seize upon the times of fear and uncertainty as an access point to practice choosing life and love (God) and witness for ourselves just how powerful the presence of God really is.  Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen

Be With Completeness!

Each new day is an invitation.  An invitation from our Great Creator to live an experience that is more than just the physical one that is readily apparent to us.  We are after all physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual beings.  So much of what we live day-to-day is in the physical and it is what readily demands our attention that it is hard to imagine that it is not the dominant or most important part of us.  As a society we buy into this thinking. We make jokes about emotional well-being. Instead of learning being a priority, we focus on what is already known. We make fun of those “spiritual” things as only necessary for those who are too weak.  I grew up in a household that practiced a particular religious faith and even I have judgments about focusing more on “spiritual” aspects of my being. I also thought that only certain emotions were acceptable and learned to literally stuff the other ones down almost killing myself in the process. The reality is that it is all intertwined and we cannot break ourselves apart into these different elements.  They all effect each other.  The degree to which we experience wholeness and health is the degree to which we accept all these “parts” of ourselves as our being.  God made us whole. We are energetic beings with a tangible physical presence but our emotions and our thinking carry energy as well.  How we understand ourselves as messengers to give and receive love and light (the core of who we are) affects our physical and emotional energy.  God created all of us at once.  It is not as though God waited for the physical to begin to not work as effectively before we were endowed with spiritual or emotional energy.  Our ego thrives on the idea that we are just our physical selves because it needs a body to claim an identity.  There is nothing wrong with this, it just causes some challenges when the ego thinks it is all there is because it is not true.  We cannot deny ourselves (any part of ourselves) and be at peace.  We are out of integrity when we walk around rejecting part of ourselves or even seeing ourselves as parts.  Sometimes when I feel fractured and out of alignment, the best I can do is say: God restore my view to wholeness so that I may see the truth of who I am and who others are and be at peace.  My prayer for us today is that we be open to the peace and integrity of wholly accepting our complete selves.  Make it a great one!  Peace~Colleen

Are you willing to try on complete acceptance of your whole self and experience the peace of integrity of that truth?  Share in the comments.
