God calls.  Embracing the gifts God has created within us means making room for their recognition.  Resounding the call of God within us causes resonance throughout our whole body.  Our sanity is evident in our clear thinking and feeling.  We find that we are no longer clouded over with trying to hold on to the stories we have created about ourselves.  This soundness of mind resonating from our hearts is God calling us home to peace.  It is our internal teacher beckoning us to be in union with our Creator.  It is our best self asking to be the forefront of our experience of the world and resonate the truth of love.  Sanity is evidenced by the viability to love resonating from our hearts through our eyes and our natural physical expression of compassion.

My prayer for us is the courage to ask God for help in aligning our hearts with the call to love and experience the sanity promised in this alignment today.

God is real. Love is real.  Everything else is an illusion.  Being in relationship with God is about learning to let go of the thinking of the world which is based on fear.  It is hard sometimes for us to grasp this because we have learned to operate in this world.  In many cases it makes perfect sense to us and we have managed to adapt and buy into the illusion for so long.  Enlightenment is about opening up to the reality of love. Paying attention to the actuality of the presence of love within our hearts, allows us to return to who we are.  I cannot of my own step into the actuality of love especially when I am seeing nothing but what is appearing to me because of a mindset of fear.  I reach for the hand of God and acknowledge that I am not seeing things as they actually are and need help to see the truth.  My daily meditation date with God each morning calibrates me to perceive my experiences as they actually are, not as my fears would have them be.  Then as I go through my day reaching for the hand of God when I get sucked back into the illusion of fear it is easier.

God lights.  To walk on this path of the light of love we are called to recognize our part in it.  Our role is not arbitrary.  Our place is not mistaken.  We do not have to do anything to earn our place. The miracle of life is here and we are its beacon of recognition.  When we allow ourselves to shine brightly as the children of God we are, others recognize themselves for who they truly are.  It is almost as if there is this silent contract in how light operates that one person shining brightly ignites the light in others.  It is the light in us that speaks directly to our hearts.  It bypasses the brain’s processing and needing to know and hits us at our core. It may seem like others try to block our brightness or put down our light. This is because when we help awaken the awareness to their light they first they become aware of all the things they have placed on top of their brightness.  It is not about them, our brightness is about being who we are at our core. God is there to encourage us to keep shinning brightly despite how others react because it is not about their reaction, it is about us being who we are authentically called to be.

God harmonizes.  If I choose this day to believe God is working in and through me for the greatest good, I am able to take a step back from the battle of life.  There is something inherent in the trust of God that allows me to not feel like I have to do everything myself.  I can be in accordance with the process.  When I am experiencing trial or discomfort I don’t have to struggle to get out of it as soon as possible.  I can breathe.  I can choose to not go down the trail of my stinking thinking that tells me that I did something wrong or need to push away the feelings I am experiencing. Then my whole body aligns in accordance with this trust and I don’t have to stress or close off my heart.

God is real.  The examples we can look to for evidence of authenticity is in sacred scripture.  Have you ever noticed that the lives of the people in many sacred texts is a mess?  Yet they are held out as examples of how to follow God.  How about the lives of saints?  When you look closely you see people who did not fit the status quo and in some cases were very eccentric.  So if being in relationship with God is about being ourselves we are in luck.  As Oscar Wilde would say, “be yourself, everyone else is taken.”  We were not created to be someone else.  We were created in the image and likeness of God.  This means God has many variations, expressions, feelings, insights, actions, dreams, characteristics, habits, and ideas.  We are raised in a family, a culture, a society, a religion, a particular thought system and they influence us.  These origins shape us and define us.  But our true authentic self was formed long before we were influenced and shaped by those outside elements.  More than anything I find in my daily relationship with God I am invited to examine if what I took on from other sources resides as true in my own heart.  It can be difficult to let go of ideas and ways of being that saved my life or made me feel accepted.  Honestly, it can be downright painful and severely uncomfortable.  But at the end of the day, it’s just me and God.  This is my freedom. When I pass on from this world the only thing that goes with me is me and God and I want to do so freely.  Each day on my daily meditation date with God as I am called to step into my heart and hear God whispering yet again the truth of who I am at my core.  Some days I am open and available and even desire to hear it.  Those are beautiful days and they encourage me to show up as authentically as possible. I hope today is one of those days.

God rules.  We have an opportunity with the capacities given to us to rule our own world. In our minds we allow a lot of thoughts to roam free unchecked.  We can call upon our hearts to keep our minds in check and steer them in the direction of love and service.  We tend to default to allowing ourselves to believe everything we think.  We like the sound of our own thoughts and jump on them like they are a train passing by and if we don’t catch it we will miss out.  Our power comes when we decide to pause and examine our thoughts.  Taking a moment to check in with our hearts about where the train of thought is leading us puts the power of rule back in our true essence.  There is nothing wrong with our thoughts.  They are just thoughts but before we take action we can choose the rule of our hearts by checking the thoughts with the space of great love within us.

God envelopes.  There is no time, space, situation or way of being that lacks God’s presence in some way.  We who rely so heavily on our physical senses as the only reliable evidence cannot conceive of God’s presence in the places where we do not see God as we expect to see God.  Unfortunately this limits our understanding of God and thus God in our minds.  Just because we cannot imagine what or how God would be present in our dark times or awkward moments or people who seems to be completely incapable of love does not mean God is not there.  Just because we feel separate from God does not mean it is true.  God is the unifying presence.  God is the assurance that anything cannot possibly erase its source.  The unification of love is present when a circumstance shows itself as love or reveals itself to be in need of love.  I remembering hearing in a song once that love isn’t love until you give it away.  I have come to see the greatest benefit of my daily meditation date with God comes when the unified presence of love comes through me in a situation where I cannot see or experience love.  The reason it is lacking love, the reason it feels separate from God, is because I am not allowing God to work through me.  I am stepping in and deciding in my mind that this person, situation, or way of being is not Godly in the way I imagine it to be. Who died and made me God?

My prayer for us is the courage to trust in the unification of love that resides in our hearts and can come out through us if we get out of our heads about how love is supposed to show up.

God bestows.  While it seems outside of the box to conceive of a God that is constantly giving to us, not believing it does not make it so.  The reality in God’s eyes is the whole reason we are here is because God decided to share the love that is the wholeness of God.  It began with our creation and it continues.  This is why we are called to continually renew our relationship with God.  The more we grow in love the closer we draw to the reality of God.  God then confers upon us more of the gifts of love.  As we expand our awareness of the purpose of our being and what we are here to do, we need greater capacity to be love and share love.  The conferment allows for an expansion of the eyes of hearts through which we see our world.  The conferment is the little bits of encouragement from God that we are not alone.  The conferment is available to us when we bring God into every situation in our lives.  It has been my experience that I do not see love or want to grow in an area where I believe there is too much darkness.  However when I have the courage to open my hands to show God the darkness, God smiles and immediately confers light so that I may begin to see it for what it is and deal with its reality.

God cares.  The unfathomable nature of God’s mercy is the tenderness in which is presents itself in our own nature.  All that God is resides in our own hearts.  Being in relationship with the divine means connecting with that tenderness.  My daily meditation dates remind me of the softness with which God creates life.  When life seems hard and harsh it is easy for me to think God is the same way.  This is the benefit of meeting God in the quiet of the morning before I have connected with the outside world through my phone, computer, or TV.  During our date time of meditative stillness and authentic sharing I have the confidence to pour out my heart and share.  God is there with tenderness and a presence.  I can place my hand and rest it in God’s and hope to reconnect with this same tenderness as I go through my day.
