Sharing my experiences and understandings of the Great I AM.

Be Of Opening!

God embraces.  It continually amazes me the depths at which God is available to receive me just as I am.  It is honestly beyond my understanding the openness God demonstrates.  It is the power of love at its fullest.  God doesn’t seem to spend time with a list of things needed for improvement.  God isn’t interested in all the ways in which I am not able to be open to loving myself.  Perhaps God knows that I am acutely aware of these things.  There is something in being willing to step towards this opening to love offered by God that allows me to embrace the lack of love in me.  The opening of love created allows for an acceptance of what is.  When I am in acceptance I can move forward and decide to change or not.  God’s love is not contingent on my perfection.  God’s love is always open and available.
My prayer for us is the courage to open ourselves up to love as God loves and let go of our requirements for love today.
If God is not limited by our perception of deservedness, in what way can you be open to loving you  in an area of your life where you have restricted love today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Rethinking!

God changes.  My perspective on life has changed significantly since I started on my daily meditation dates with God.  Each morning as I have brought myself as fully as possible to our date, my way of thinking has been altered.  I can remember times when I would picture myself placing my troubled thinking in the hands or at the feet of God as though on an altar. It helped me to imagine letting go completely of the thinking that was robbing me of my peace.  But God didn’t grab the thoughts and take them away.  God looked me in the eye and acknowledged the thinking I brought to be altered. God would take a look them and with great love assure me that it would be taken care of. Then the miracle would occur.  I would find myself in the very situation that used to make me feel trapped or discomforted by my way of thinking and would somehow see the situation from a different angle.  I would hear words come out of my mouth enabling me to handle the situation with love.  It was as though I was rethinking the situation. Other times, the experience was off my radar and I never had to think about it again.  The rethinking, to think as God thinks, is what transformed my heart.  It has made me so grateful when I am willing to let go long enough of a way of thinking because I remember that God does not think as I do.  The simplest prayers I say throughout the day are “God please help me to see this as You see this, God change my thinking or I placed my thinking on the altar of Your mind.”
My prayer for us is the willingness to be open to rethinking something that robs of our peace and the courage to place it in God’s hands today.
If God will not judge us for our thinking, what might be keeping you from being open to rethinking an experience or situation today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Reciprocating!

God decides.  In our experience of life there are many choices we are faced with over and over again.  Our daily routines are filled with moments of choices that in large part we are not aware of because our mind does them automatically.  It is a beautiful function of our brain that so much is automated as it allows us to focus on placing energy for decisions that really need our attention.  These higher ordered decisions include how we want to share the love within us.  We think it is automatic because we experience the feelings without prompting ourselves to choose them.  But feeling love is different from deciding to love.  A decision to love is to reciprocate what has been freely given to us by God.  It is the ultimate fulfillment of who we are.  Reciprocation is the element of joy that gives our life meaning.  All love comes from God and when we respond as God we are being our truest selves.
My prayer for us is the courage to choose to reciprocate love and experience the joy of being ourselves today.
If God designed us to love and we don’t need to make up what that looks like, how can you reciprocate love in your life and be your truest self today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Vastness!

God is limitless.  The challenge we face as human beings in a physical body is in our limitations of the physical world.  Our mind has the capability of imagining experiences beyond our physical reality.  Perhaps it is an indication of our connection to the divine.  The vastness of our spirits create a balance to our reality.  It is this vastness that allows us to enter more fully into a relationship with God. Physically we are in our bodies and God is somewhere (often described as “up there”) outside of us.  Doesn’t that place God within our limited thinking?  What if God is as close as our hearts?  What if God is embodied in an experience of vastness that transcends our day-to-day understanding?  This would mean love can exist as more than the physical expression of love.
My prayer for us is the willingness to open our they eyes of our heart the vastness of God present within us.
If God is beyond our limited thinking and being, how might God be able to share the vastness of love with you today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Anticipation!

God excites.  There is no shortage of experiences waiting for us when we embark on a relationship with God.  I am constantly surprised by how God shows up in my life.  It is often where and how I might least expect it. It is in small and delightful ways. It is in profound moments that touch my heart.  It is the salve provided by my breath at a time of intense grief and anger.  If I was stuck on how I expect God to show up I would miss it.  The key is anticipating the variety and limitless nature of God.  In the same way God anticipates my awakening to the truth of myself and finding peace, I can anticipate the guidance of God to show up at any time in any way.  On the one hand it can seem scary because of the seeming uncertainty, but it only seems uncertain.  I am certain that God is and its all I have to know to live in anticipation of how God is in this moment.

My prayer for us is the curiosity to be in anticipation of the variety and limitless nature of God in our lives today.
If God has no limits, how might you be able to stand in the space of anticipation of God’s love for you showing up today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Conglomeration!

God joins. As we invite our minds into the knowledge of our hearts by taking time to connect with the deepest part of ourselves, we find life is much more simple than our minds would have us believe.  God is interested in helping us maximize the use of our hearts as the driving force of our existence.  This invitation of God to us comes from God’s knowledge of our truest happiness stemming from our hearts.  Our purest experience of joy comes ultimately from the recognition of God’s presence with us.  We experience this conglomeration of God’s existence by stepping into a place of silence.  I have found that what works for me is to engage in my daily meditation date with God before I check my phone, look at my email, or carry on a conversation with another.  Then the starting point of my day begins simply with the ultimate conglomeration of love.  I never know quite what will occur as I step into the space of my heart with God each day.  What I do know is that God is genius at providing the most profound conglomeration of love that lays outside my realm of possibility.  As I go through my day, I can reflect back on my date time and remember who I am and what lies within me at all times.
My prayer for us is the willingness to explore in early morning silence the conglomeration of love that God has placed in our hearts will be shared with us today.
If God is love undefined, what conglomeration of love might you ask God to help you experience in your heart today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Security!

God is untouched.  The power and the presence of our Almighty Creator can withstand anything that exists.  There is nothing we can experience that can cause God to unravel. God existed before anything else and therefore the creation and destruction of anything else will not rock God out of creation.  In my daily meditation dates with God I am wrapped in this sense of security that grounds me when I go out into the world.  It is the centering piece that allows me to know God is within me and nothing that happens to me can destroy the core of who I am. I continually seek outside elements of security and frequently fall prey to their illusionary allure, but at the end of the day it is just me and God.  No thought or feeling I have no matter how powerful can change my essence.  My security in God is grounded in the certainty of God.  In the storms of life I never know how I will be secure or how God will show up in those moments, but somewhere in me I know God is.  Even the times when I could not find God anywhere the fact of the presence of my breath allowed me to know on an intimate level I was not yet done with this life.  It isn’t easy when one’s sense of security comes from an unseen, unprovable experience but it isn’t about having to prove it or it making sense to anyone else. It only matters that I am present in my awareness of the security of love in this moment.
My prayer for us is the willingness to set the foundation for our security in God by spending some time in our heart space with God today.
If God is the ultimate security, what experience can you let go that you believe is going to undo you today?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Remaining!

God is present.  As we open our eyes to the profound nature of love that exists within our own hearts we become present to the true presence of God in our lives.  When all else falls away, God remains.  When our plans don’t work out and we feel abandoned, God remains.  When we want to abandon ourselves because the self-hatred has gotten too strong, God remains.  When we are full of fear and worry that we will not amount to anything, God remains.  For me, the fact that God remains with me no matter what happens in my life is evidence of a power greater than myself.  Much of my life was about mastering the art of abandonment.  I thought it happen to me by others, but I realized the most profound was the way that I would abandon myself.  God has not once blinked.  God remains, always.
My prayer for us is the simplicity of wonder at the fascination of our presence that God acknowledges by remaining with us today.
If God in infinite wisdom deems us as valuable enough to remain with no matter what, how can God show you the value of remaining in love with you today? Share in the comments.

Be Of Need!

God is here. Walking a path of faith in God is no easy manner.  It is simple and far more pleasurable than going it alone or trying to tough it out. When I started to truly rely on God and made a commitment to our daily date time, my life began to shift.  This daily prayer and meditation time became my saving grace.  It turned out to be the one thing I needed more than anything.  Over the years, showing up for my date has changed my perspective on life.  I am able to handle things I never thought I could handle in my day-to-day endeavors.  My heart has expanded and I have a sense of peace that seemed to evade me no matter what I had attained in life.  These are not things I thought I needed.  By turning over all things in my life to My Creator who holds me in such tremendous esteem I sometimes think is only the madness of God, I found everything I needed and wanted.
My prayer for us is the courage to take one step on a path with God today and discover that our truest needs are fulfilled by the one who designed us from the inside out.
If God desires to be present with us on a consistent basis, perhaps God is interested in showing you something today about what you didn’t know you needed.  How much time would you be willing to share with God in your day to explore this need?  Share in the comments.

Be Of Sanity!

God calls.  Embracing the gifts God has created within us means making room for their recognition.  Resounding the call of God within us causes resonance throughout our whole body.  Our sanity is evident in our clear thinking and feeling.  We find that we are no longer clouded over with trying to hold on to the stories we have created about ourselves.  This soundness of mind resonating from our hearts is God calling us home to peace.  It is our internal teacher beckoning us to be in union with our Creator.  It is our best self asking to be the forefront of our experience of the world and resonate the truth of love.  Sanity is evidenced by the viability to love resonating from our hearts through our eyes and our natural physical expression of compassion.
My prayer for us is the courage to ask God for help in aligning our hearts with the call to love and experience the sanity promised in this alignment today.
If God desires for us to be in union with the sounding of love, what might you need from the hand of God to be willing to travel this path of sanity today?  Share in the comments.
