The present is a gift and that is why it is called a present. The beauty of life is that we are given two presents–here and now. And you thought you couldn’t be in two places at once! Poppycock! You can. You can be here where your feet are physically and you can be now in the present moment in time. We often get one of them, but the beauty of them together is heaven. How often I am physically but not mentally present? Hmm, I never thought to measure my day that way. No wonder I am exhausted after a long day! Perhaps if I spent more of my time here and now together I wouldn’t be worn out by being in my mind somewhere else, like the past or future. When we get back in touch with our breath, it brings us to right here and right now. It is God’s little nudge of a reminder that this is where God is where the gifts are. If we find ourselves wanting to be somewhere else physically or in our heads, we can ask God for the courage to be with God in this gift of the moment. My prayer for us today is that we be willing to surrender to the here and now, even if it is just for right here, right now. (take a deep breath and ask God for that right now). Good, now you are free to spend the rest of your day elsewhere. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
