God receives. One of the most comforting visions for me as I walk this spiritual path is what happens when I release something.  It could be an idea, a person, an experience, a definition of myself, a meaning, a relationship, a pattern of being, a belief or an action.  My ego has tied it to my identity and does not want to let it go.  I fear the void.  I am not sure what life will be like without it, even if it no longer serves me.  Clinging to familiarity is something we all struggle with.  The courage to walk through the release comes in seeing the hand of God.  This same hand that guides me continually to the deeper experience of love is open and ready to receive whatever it is I am willing to release.  I have also seen that when I release it to God, God can make more of it than just a void.  Sometimes I am given the opportunity to see it from a different angle when it is in God’s hands.  Sometimes it is given back to me to do more with at a later time.  God is full of surprised but mostly things I could not conceive of on my own.  It makes the release easier and for that my spirit and my heart rejoice even if my ego is still suspect of the process.
