God of Infinite Intelligence in wisdom created light. We are drawn to that light because it lives inside of us. When we see it or experience the warmth of the Light, we feel connected and aligned. We experience this as literally light through the sun, the majesty of a fire, or the turning on of a light switch in a dark room. We sense this when we extend compassion (warmth of heart) to ourselves or others. The power of love in light and compassion goes beyond the physical experience because it is more than just a physical reality. Light is a God reality. Warmth is a God reality. I know when God is alive in my heart because I sense a warmth in my heart. My essence is filled with this burning light of love and I can do nothing short of share it in some way with those around me. This is the power of love. The miraculous thing is that if I am feeling disconnected from it I can get reconnected by simply spending some time in the warmth of light–by being around others who are warm, time in the sun, or remembering a feeling of warmth. My prayer for us today is that when we find ourselves feeling distant from the love that comes from the light that we seek it out and reconnect so that our warmth can be reignited within us. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
Be With Warmth!
Be With Character!
The life of God extends beyond all realms and resides in all things. As unique as we all are, we bear the signature of our Creator down to our DNA. We cannot escape that from which we were formed. This means that no matter what we do or how we act we cannot change our essence. It is up to us to own who we are showing up as in the world. We can be the character that we see ourselves as or the one that God sees us as. We can go it on our own and create a whole drama play in which we are the central character and all revolves around us. This allows us to be the director and design everything as just so. However, we will often find that it does not work out so well because we do not reside in every other character. We are full in ourselves. Other people’s roles are best played out by them. We interact with them and respond to them but we were not designed to be them or direct them. Being the character that we are means allowing others the dignity to be the character that they are, that God has created within them. It is easy for me to judge others but if I place the spotlight on myself I can actually do something about what kind of character I am playing. I have no control over other characters, I was not meant to have it. I am called by God to be the beacon of Light and Love to all in my own special way. That is my focus, that is my mission. If I am clear and purposeful about following my mission and living out my character I have no time to concern myself with what others are doing. My prayer for us today is that we be willing to keep our eyes focused on how we can be the character that God is calling us to be and thus allow others to do the same. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
Be With Vibrancy!
God is All That Is. God calls us to participate fully in life. God wants for us to experience the fullness and joy of being alive in love. God’s dream for us is nothing short of a miraculous experience. Being present in the moment is where we find the greatest vibrancy. Our energy aligns with God’s when we are nowhere else but the present moment. It is the greatest gift to ourselves and to the world to be present. We notice it when we are with someone else who is fully there. We recognize it when we get “lost” in the moment of whatever it is that we are doing. In the vibration of the moment there is no other place to be, thing to do or fear of missing out. We are contented in our hearts knowing that we are exactly where we are supposed to be and all our energies align with that purpose. The beauty of all of this is that it only takes the simplicity of being with our breath to create this reality. We do not need to attend classes, learn metaphysics, listen to a great speaker. We can stop, place our hand on our hearts and take three deep breaths. This is something I do over and over again to bring myself into a space of vibrancy (aliveness in the moment). My prayer for us today is that we awaken to how we can be fully present with the gift of God in the moment through the simplicity of our breath. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
Be With Humor!
God delights in us. God is fascinated by how we grow and learn. God smiles when looking at creation and sees the perfection that is inherent in All That Is. Our ability to find humor and lightness in our existence puts us in direct contact with God. We are called to be introspective and quiet so that we might hear the voice of God in our lives. But there are also times when circumstance just jumps out God’s message of love to us. Humor is one of those qualities that allows us to embrace God. When we stay in touch and are aware of the humorous side of life we know that the Spirit is with us. There is an acceptance of what is and courage to relax and trust when we see the humorous side of things. One cannot laugh with a heavy heart. When it seems as though things are dark and painful we can ask God to show us the humor (the lightness) of the situation. We are asking for the gift of an unburdened heart so that we are free to allow the spirit within our breath to move through us in a rapid fashion. Suddenly, laughter comes with ease. My prayer for us today is that we look for the humorous side of a situation that we have only seen through the eyes of burden today. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
Be With Interest!
God calls us to be awake and alive. We are gifted with breath and mind so that we might show the world the facets of love that it longs to connect with. Only we can be examples of love in the variety of ways that it manifests. We are the vessels through which God works and shows up. When we pay attention to the things that interest us we begin to get a clue as to how we can best be the light of love for the world. Growing up I focused a lot on what I thought other people wanted me to be and do because i was depending on them to tell me I was okay. I felt I had to justify my existence. I knew there were things I was interested in but I would cater what I leaned toward or got involved in by how it would look. I also thought that if I couldn’t be the best at whatever it was, there was not point in even getting started on that path. Now I see what a limiting way of living that creates. It is a good way to suck the energy out of one’s life when we are not coming from a place of authenticity. Life is about the process. It is not about being the best at whatever it is that I am interested in, it is being on the path of that interest so that each day I can be the beacon of love. God gifts us with abilities and interests to guide us on a path of making God present to the world in multiple fashions. When I remember that my “okayness” stems from my connection with God, I am free to be myself in the world. My prayer for us today is that we be willing to explore our interests and accept that its path can be a way for us to be love for ourselves and the world. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
Be With Planting!
God is interested in our growing in love. God is always in full awareness and knowledge of us as being love because God knows the stuff used to create us. God is aware that we forget who we are. When we take the time to plant the seed of love given to us in our hearts, we sow the seeds of remembrance. In our relationship with God we fertilize the seed so that it can grow and bloom into a love that sits at the root of our hearts that we find ourselves more and more conscious of as time goes by. Growing up I considered myself to have a black thumb. I was never very good at keeping anything alive. Then again, I did not make a conscious effort to participate in its growth. Honestly, I was focused more on my own survival and not anything else. Today I recognize that if the seed of love is to grow stronger in my heart, I need to participate in the whole process. First, I need to receive the love from God. If I do not make space in my heart for it, there is no room for it to grow. Then I will give it attention and make sure it gets sun, water, etc. To participate in the planting and growth of love in my heart is my way of taking the gift which has been so freely given to me by God and sharing it in only a way that I can. For me it is starting the day by thanking God for the gift of a new day and spending some special time with Him. My prayer for us today is that we pay attention to the things we tend to in our lives and determine if they help us grow the love planted in our hearts by God. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
Be With Surprise!
God is All LOVE. God is benevolent. God is compassion. God is graciousness. God is the One constant. God is the security. God is certainty. God is enchantment and surprises. God is unexpected and alluring. God is laughter and mystery. We cannot capsulize God into a specific category because that would be God as in our minds not The Mind. One of the greatest gifts I have experienced in my dates with God is the openness to be surprised by God. I know that God is but when I “allow” God to be outside of what I expect or am familiar with there is room for the Divine Spark. I can participate in the mystery and rely on the fact that God is, but be shown the limitless nature of God. I confirm that God is a power greater than me because God shows up in ways I could not fathom. Life becomes about learning, exploration, wonder and curiosity. I can adopt the mind of a child when I am seeing God with new eyes. My prayer for us today is that we be willing to let go of our concept of God and be surprised by God in a way that God chooses. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
Be With Curiosity!
We live in a universe of learning. Everything is either love or a chance to grow in love. All else is an illusion. When we come from the head space of right or wrong, good or bad, we rob ourselves of the opportunity to learn a lesson. We are so quick to judge the experience instead of tasting the fruits of it. I always thought I should know stuff I didn’t know. I bought into the illusion that everything is either right or wrong, good or bad. Yet, there was something inside of me that had this curiosity that caused me to explore. I sensed there was something beyond that black and white mentality. They say that curiosity killed the cat, but we also say that cats have nine lives so maybe they are on to something. If we are willing to accept that in God’s world it is about love or learning to love then we are free to approach people and circumstances with curiosity. Jesus said we should be like children–hello, who has more curiosity than them? My prayer for us today is that we be willing to be curios about something that we are usually quick to judge. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
Be With Sentiment!
God created us with an earnest desire for us to experience love through all of what life has to offer. God would know all of what is there to be experienced as God created all. When we have the opportunity to step fully into our lives and bring all of ourselves authentically to the present moment we get a taste of the divine. When we find ourselves hindered by life and dragged around by situations or experiences it is because we in our heads about it. Right here, right now, all is well. Right here, right now, we have everything we need. I am certain that sometimes all God asks of me is to pause and look up and around. When I get in the moment I am in with all my intention and attention I am one with the sentiment of the moment. I am right where God is. It is the experience of being in and with the Divine and aligned with our true essence. We get glimpses of it here and there but sometimes it is in stopping and slowing down that we can integrate it fully into our experience. Being in the moment restores us to wholeness because we are present with God. My prayer for us today is that we seize the choice to be fully present in the moment at least once today. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
Be With Awakening!
God created us to live and be in communion and relationship with one another. We are drawn to others and seek connections because that is how LOVE is lived. Our intentions come from the space in our souls that know we are connected already and seek to fulfill that in the physical realm. It is a magical thing to behold when a group of people gather together in the name of love and carry the same intention of sharing that love with each other. We are changed by those experiences because it is there that we get a sense of the wholeness from which we were created. We get a sense of the divine power of communion. When we connect with other people in love we are part of an awakening to our birthright of LOVE fulfilled. God wants to connect with us at all times and in all ways. That connection happens directly, through others, and through ourselves. We can cultivate this awakening in our lives when we recognize that no person is outside the circle of love. My prayer for us today is that we be open to playing a part in the awakening of love by seeing someone who seems to be different as one with us. Make it a great one! Peace~Colleen
