Sharing my experiences and understandings of the Great I AM.

Be From Guarantee!

The certainty we seek is found in our connection to a power greater than ourselves.  As much as we might like it to come from ourselves or the world around us, there is no guarantee of its lasting quality.  The Source of all creation existed before all other things and it is therefore the view of Source that provides for us the guarantee of who we are. Who knows better what we are made of than our Creator?  The inner design of our being is not changed by the world around us. It is not changed by our ill-thought ideas.  It only appears to be altered.  It only seems like we can undo ourselves because we think we see it with our eyes.  Yet, if we go back to the source of our being in our hearts and look through those eyes, we find an unaltered state that remains constant. Within this space is the guarantee of our place in this world because God placed us here.  To undo the essence of who we are at our core would be to undo God.  We cannot uncreate ourselves.  The guarantee of our goodness, our wholeness, our worthiness, our beingness is from Our Creator who has instilled within us the possibilities of love beyond which we can imagine for ourselves.
My prayer for us is the courage to trust in the guarantee of our wholeness residing within us in the space of love no matter what nonsense we place on top of it today.

Be From Strength!

We measure strength in terms of physicality.  We go to the gym to improve our bodily strength.  We educate ourselves to improve our strength of mind. But what do we do to strengthen our hearts? In our connection with God is the ability to build capacity to be and share love.  Love is our strength.  We have all the strength we need and always have.  The strength building is the remembering.  It is the letting go of the limiting beliefs we have adopted over time due to circumstances.  I have many reasons, based on experiences in my past to believe I am not strong enough.  It is actually a repeated thought I learned to catch myself entertaining.  The moment I notice it, I bring it to God and ask , is this true?  God guides my hand to my heart, encourages me to take a deep breath and ask the question again.  In the small quiet space of my heart I see the illusion of lack of strength.  Within our hearts is the limitless strength of love surpassing the need or importance of physical strength of body or mind.  When we tap into this love we need not fear weakness of any kind.
My prayer for us is the courage to pause and notice a thought of weakness as a call to remember the strength of our hearts present at all times today.

Be From Insight!

We look at our outside world through the vision of our eyes.  The eyes of our body hold a perception of what they are seeing based on the narrative provided by our mind.  What we see is colored by our perspective in the moment. It would be correct therefore to say we think therefore we see. God invites us to take a look from a different perspective.  When we come from the inner space of our hearts, our in-sight changes our perception and therefore our vision.  We are can perceiving the possibilities of love when guided by insight.  Our sight is joined by God’s perspective when it comes from within our hearts.  We are capable of witnessing the innocence of ourselves and those around us when coming from insight.
My prayer for us is the willingness to attempt to move deeper than the vision of our eyes and see our world from our insight driven by the heart and witness love today.

Be From Offering!

It is the simple gestures of being that sometimes create the greatest impact.  We live in a society very focused on the big changes and the massive displays.  Our eyes become attuned to the grand gestures and massive changes.  After a while we miss out the subtleties of human connection seen face to face or heard ear to ear.  God who speaks in the still small quiet voice calls us to show up in a big way in our lives by living out the simple genuine connections with each other and ourselves.  When we offer the face of God to another human being by mirroring their expression or countering their frown with a smile, we create the ripple effects of connection heart to heart.  It may not strike in our minds as a phenomenal experience but it can change the course of a day or a week.  The fluctuation of heart rhythms from person to person that can happen in an offering of kindness of gesture or word go beyond our ears and our eyes.  Their subtle value can touch the depths of our heart.  Just the other day I saw a young couple return from bringing their newly born child to a procedure room where they left their newest family in the hands of the doctors who assured them they would come back out as soon as the procedure was finished.  The look of compassion the husband offered his wife and the embrace he held her in touched my heart and I was standing on the other side of the room.  It may have appeared like a simple offering of kindness or perhaps an expected one, but its ripple effect sent the energy of the room to another place.

My prayer for us is the courage to look for ways we can offer to be the face, hands, ears, and eyes of God by being the presence of love today for one another.

Be From Safety!

A sense of safety is integral to the capability to be present to love. Safety creates the grounding from which all humans are able to flourish.  When we know within ourselves we are safe we have the power to authentically express ourselves.  In our years of dates every morning, God has guided me to my heart through my breath.  God was pointing me to the untouched space of safety where the purest place of being is housed. In the space of love God reigns.  In God’s rule, safety is a given.  I grew up feeling very unsafe for many reasons and learned all kinds of mechanisms to get through despite this absence.  I had all the appearances of safety but it is not just an outside job.  When one feels safe they do not question whether they have the right to take up space on the planet.  We all know intrinsically what we need to establish a sense of safety from the inside out.  I did not know how and so I opted to encase my heart in steel and ice.  Safety not love was my primary goal.  On the outside I wasn’t cold but I kept people enough at a distance that they need try to penetrate the inner realm of my heart.  God has led me gently to soften my heart.  To let go of the anger and resentment and embrace the softness and sincerity of genuine love.  A love safely encased in my heart which cannot be damaged by outside occurrences. Once I connected to the safety of a relationship with God, I was willing to open myself up to the vibrancy of living from a space of love and joy one day at a time.

My prayer for us is the courage to take God up on the opportunity to find the space of safety in which the possibilities of love can bring life to our being today.

Be From Conquering!

There is a lot happening in the world around us all the time.  It can be overwhelming if we stop to think about it.  We have been gifted with the natural ability to filter out information and notice only what is really need.  In addition we have the capability to choose what we pay attention to.  Those are the elements of our lives that grow.  What we focus on expands.  Which is why when we try to solve something by not thinking about it we sometimes think about it more.  A greater clarity comes when we recognize that only so much can be processed by our brain.  Usually when we have exhausted the resources of our mind, we turn to other’s minds and then back to our own.  God calls us to take our thinking and our focus into the minds of our hearts.  There with a quieter clarity we can hear a different voice.  It means we are running the show when it comes to our brain, not the other way around.  We are not victims of our thinking unless we choose to be.  We can be conquerors of our thought when we choose what to do with them.  Surrender to the heart can be the most powerful option for us in the moment.  God invites us to be open to what may come from letting go of the supposed domination of our brain and breathe into our heart.  It is something we can choose to do at a moment’s notice with simple deep breaths and a touch of our heart.  Drawing our attention there and away from the dominating thought in our brain, brings us into a space of possibility.

My prayer for us is the courage to pause, take a breath, touch our hand to our heart, and allow the process of surrender of a thought be the conquering element of allowing for the possibilities love has to offer enter in today.

Be From Working!

A crucial element to the function of any system is whether or not it is working.  If it is not working then it will not be able to serve its function or purpose.  If it is not working, one needs to take a look at where it keeps breaking down and pay attention to what processes or other elements are causing it to stop working.  Our lives are very much the same.  We are not machines but we all know when our life is working and when it is not.  We have a sense of when we are fulfilling our function or purpose to our best ability and when we seem to be just making it through.  God encourages us to work as our purpose to the best of our abilityfrom our hearts.  When we find ourselves not able to do so we need to take a look at what is causing the breakdown.  Perhaps we have added on to many other things.  Perhaps we have lost sight of what direction we are headed and are working aimlessly.  When we sense ourselves not able to function it may be a sign our work is not powered from our hearts.
My prayer for us is the courage to take a look at what we are working towards creating in our lives today and check in to see if it is resonating with our heart.

Be From Showing!

God makes love visible. God is showing love everywhere. There is no hiding of love.  It can seem hidden to us but if we are looking with our eyes and more importantly open hearts then we cannot help but see its presence.  Love is who we are.  Love is what creates the flow of the universe.  Love is the overarching and underpinning mechanism of life.  I get caught up in seeing only things I expect to see which is often when I miss the vision of love right in front of my eyes.  I brace myself for a potentially difficult interaction with someone, for traffic filled street, a long day at work, or an activity I decided I had to do instead of choosing to do.  All of these situations are not ones in which I walk into expecting to show me evidence of love in the world.  God encourages me on our daily date to begin to see with the eyes of my heart.  Even if for an hour at a time.  By starting with the love in my own heart, it extends out through my eyes. When I catch myself being marred in thoughts of frustration either with myself or a situation, my daily dates make it more likely for me to pause and ask God to help me see as God sees. God is ready to show me love in expected places and spaces.  God is willing to show the presence of love in my own heart by reminding me to see with the eyes of my heart when I ask to be shown.
My prayer for us is the courage to pause and asked God for help in being shown both the presence of love in the world and most importantly in our own hearts today.

Be From Inclination!

Within our hearts lies the knowledge of who we truly are.  It is God’s encoding so we are never separate from the truth of love.  When we take the time to connect with ourselves deep within we get the insight and the inclination of where to act from to create the experiences in our lives that are of most benefit to ourselves and others.  The light of love shines brightly through our eyes and voice when we are directed from this space of inclination.  When we pay attention to those inklings about what to do next, who to speak with, and what to say we find ourselves living a life in which we generate the energy of love.  When I remember to pause as I go through my day and check in with my heart allowing me to hear the inclinations within me, my day goes smoother.  At the outset it sounds like a slow way to live but it only seems like it.  Besides, what is it we are in such a hurry to get to?  God calls us to check in with our heart through our breath and remember the truth of who we are so we don’t get caught up in thinking we are supposed to be someone else.  As Oscar Wilde said, “Be yourself, everyone else is already taken.”
My prayer for us is the courage to pause, breathe, check in with our hearts and attune to the inclinations of love’s expression in all elements of our lives today.

Be From Capacity!

There are many roles we assume in this life. Some are given to us as in our family, others we take on as in the jobs we perform.  No role allows us to exemplify our capacity as human beings as the one God assigns us.  When I attend my date with God each morning it is an opportunity to connect to my most important role as a child of God.  A role vibrating on the frequency of love.  A role training my eyes to see the innocence of others.  A role interested in growing and learning through all situations.  I do this before I step into the multitude of roles I will be playing throughout the course of the day.  The connection time gives me the capacity to embody the other roles in my life with greater power.  The other roles become an extension of the one I have in the eyes of God.  When I find myself forgetting my true role and not having the capacity to show up for my life as it is, I can reach for God’s hand.  God will guide it back to my heart, remind me to breathe and reconnect.  My capacity to be the best version of myself as a daughter, friend, employee, coworker, road traveler, or someone with a smile to a stranger, comes from my role as a child of God who knows she is loved and cared for.

My prayer for us is the willingness to operate from our full capacity by connecting with God’s view of us and using it as our power expressed in our multitude of roles today.
